I remember that week and Maid in Manhattan sucked all the press and attention up. Was a bit miffed that Nem was hardly in the news at all. Then I saw the film and didn't mind so much.
Actually he likes being called Will I. Am now.
He introduces himself as" Kestra's dad" to Soji and Picard calls him Will. I don't think anyone calls him Riker at all lol. Him and Deanna refer to each other as Imzadi.

. I was hoping for a glimpse of Captain Riker and Commander Christine Vale - another character which only existed in the novel-verse that I think would've made a bad-ass character in the Prime verse....

I think I'm really looking forward to seeing the TNG (partial) Reunion.
Even if this episode sucks (which I very much doubt) that will be the highlight for me.
I've skipped over pretty much the entirety of this thread, so as not to completely ruin the bit of a surprise left to it.

Obviously, I haven't seen it yet, but are you sure he didn't say "Tzenkethi"? It wouldn't be the first time that mistake was made. In fact, writer Robert Hewitt Wolfe was doing a word play with "Kzinti" when he created them.

Do you think we'll hear Picard, Riker, and Troi discussing/name-dropping the whereabouts other Enterprise D crew like LaForgem Beverly, Worf, Wesley, even Barclay and O'Brien during their reunion?
I've enjoyed all of the different series of Trek since the beginning to one degree or another, but to me anyway, the cast of TNG has always seemed the most like a 'Family' of all the series.
Seeing them getting back together perhaps for the last time, is going to be bittersweet but immensely satisfying none the less.
I suppose that is possible, but it's not something I expect or need.
With two more seasons of PICARD coming, I suspect that we will eventually see all of the main TNG cast come back.

Unless I missed it, there isn't even a reference to the Titan or Will's rank. As mentioned before, he's still on "active reserve" but the timeline seems to be:
- 2381: Thaddius Troi-Riker is born (would've been 18 the week before the episode)
- ~2382: An infant Thad is pictured with Admiral Picard in his flashback uniform (the baby also has a cute baby uniform).
- ~2385: Riker says to Picard that he if saves Romulans, he'll be knee-deep in Romulans the rest of his life.
- ~2386: Kestra Troi-Riker is born. No age is given, but the actress is 13.
- Between 2386 and 2399: Thad comes down with mendaxic neurosclerosis, which can't be treated because there are no more active positronic matrices, and they're banned by Starfleet. Troi and Riker eventually move to Nepenthe, which has regenerative properties, but Thad dies anyway.
Riker and Troi have a large house, but don't seem to use replicators. Riker does have the ability to tell the computer to play jazz and has the Kzinti-defending shielding and anti-cloaking scans. So he's not off-the-grid or anything. I assume Infinity Space Lanes is also on the planet or maybe in orbit, since Kestra knows crazy Captain Crandall and doesn't seem to be too isolated from outside society.
Picard and Soji gets picked up at the end of the episode, so we probably won't explore Nepenthe much in Episode 8. But Riker being still in service, and all the stuff about Crandall means that we're coming back to the Rikers probably sooner than later.
I listened to it a hundred times, because everything is telling me it doesn't make sense for him to say Kzinti. It's at about 16:30 on my recording (so check about 16:50 when the episode drops), where Riker first meets with Picard and says:
Doesn't sound like Tzenkethi at all. Maybe, just maybe it's Xindi with a bit of a stutter or audio glitch. But it sounds like a clear Kzinti to me. He does that thing where he smiles a bit to make the opening K sounds, whereas Xindi should require very little mouth opening.
But maybe Frakes is mispronouncing Xindi too, using an actual "ecks" sound. The T is a pretty solid T also. It's gonna be debated or celebrated, depending on what the subtitles say.
I'm looking forward to overnight tonight / this morning's episode. This episode will feel like a nice change of pace. It feels like everything's coming together and this will be the calm before the storm when it presumably all goes nuts in episodes 8, 9, and 10.
Things aren't looking good for the Romulan twins. Narek went off to chase La Sirena, and lost them when Jurati's tracker went offline, and Narissa was in charge of the entire Soji op, and she lost that when Picard trajectored her away. They have alot of explaining to do in Episode 8.

Bloody typical. Why do they refuse to give us ships. They are just as big as characters as the humans.
