That was hilarious, I love that they seemed to make a specific point of cutting off the ears. It took me a second to understand why they had Gollum on the other side of the phone call.

If you look at the BTS footage of the warehouse fight in BVS, you can see that the costume doesn't have a cape. I'm assuming that having it whip around uncontrollably is too difficult to film with and probably not that safe with all the stunts involved.

Actually, when looking at the bts stuff for THe Dark Knight, they asumed that they would have to cgi the cape for the batpod scenes. Turns out, the damned thing worked perfecty, never getting caught.
