    I'm loving his enthusiasm.
That interview with Evan Evagora was especially fun to watch with the two of them comparing their first days on the Trek sets and their interactions with Stewart & Frakes.

It's supposed to be a Trek Love Fest ... and that is what I watch it for.
Wheaton brings a crapload of Trek Knowledge from both in-front and behind the cameras.

It's wonderful to see that much enthusiasm from someone who could certainly be very jaded about the whole thing.

Wheaton seems the same as he is in other situations where he gets to be himself.

To each their own but I really enjoy the Wil Wheaton hosted The Ready Room. Episode 5 perhaps most of all. Sure his enthusiasm is a little over-the-top, however, I do believe it is sincere. His interview with Even Evagora came across, to me anyway, as Wil's talking to someone who could perhaps best identify with his TNG experience. I felt a real connection between the two. I also find Wheaton's slipping in talk of the actual craft and process of acting interesting. This series has a depth that is not generally found in similar shows.

Plus te interview seemed more appropriate for episode 4 - not ep. 5. Was Jeri Ryan not available; or are they just not wanting to bring in basically 'one shot' cast members?

I'm not sure there's that tight a system of who they're interviewing each week. Thus far, they've focused on new cast members. If there are interviews with Jeri Ryan or Patrick Stewart in the future, they're probably saving those for later.

Oh, sorry for double post, but there's a broad spoiler towards the end of the interview.

Oh Good I hoped they'd have Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes on the Ready room aftershow.

Clever, very original way of coming up with Alien names.

I am glad to read that there are others who find Wheaton hard to watch. The worst was watching him interview Santiago Cabrera. SC seemed uncomfortable during the whole conversation like he wasnt even sure who Wheaton wad. And in the end of the interview where Will tried to bro out with him... Cringe worthy. It's always important to read the room and know who is cooler than you... Read, Wil, read!

But I guess he is better than Matt.

Cabrera is a really reserved person, that always comes across whenever he is interviewed just as himself and can't hide behind a character, so it was just a sharp contrast of personalities in that interview - Wheaton so upbeat and peppy with Cabrera more thoughtful and contemplative. I enjoyed the interview, though, he seemed to appreciate being praised for his acting and gave a lot of insight into the technical process he uses to create the characters he plays.

I couldn't sit through the interview with Rod Roddenberry. Why the heck is Wheaton interviewing the man? We all know he plays no real role in the show whatsoever.

It's part of marketing the "Gene's Vision" cult of Star Trek that has become a seemingly inseparable part of the whole affair. I see it as simply an attempt to enhance the perceived 'legitimacy' of it by have a token 'Roddenberry' be involved to 'preserve the legacy of Gene' or some other such calculated nonsense.

While watching The Goldbergs this evening, I noticed that Matt Mira is one of the producers of the show! Didn't realize that.
