Remember those badges that when they turn green you're supposed to run or something in the Borg cube? That's had no payoff yet, and now Soji and Picard are off the cube. I have a feeling that once the Romulans start viciously torturing Hugh and Elnor, as seen in the previews, Hugh's going to activate all the dangerous Borg tech and let it loose on the Romulans...

And as for everyone guessing Narek would turn against the Romulans to help Soji-- they guessed wrong.

Welll... He did actually stop that Romulan Guard from going in to finish Soji off.
That's assuming that the Red Gas was only deadly to Synth's.

He also knew that Rizzo was watching.

She'd just as soon cut his balls off if she thought for a second he was trying to save Soji.

Considering what happened in this episode, my suggestion above now seems remarkably tame by comparison.

And what in the galaxy is up with Rios putting the moves on grieving (as far as Rios knows) Jurati? Everyone booed and hissed when Grima hit on Eowyn while she was grieving for Theodred in Lord of the Rings, but when Rios does it it's ok just because he has muscles? What a double standard. :(

I think it's more that she's just told him that she feels isolated and alone. She wants to be close to someone, and she even admits that she has that marvelous superpower. I take it as him having sympathy, recognizing that if he doesn't do something, she'll just wallow in misery when he could provide an escape, if only for a few hours.
Am I saying that sleeping with some guy after you had a mental breakdown and were compelled to murder your former lover the night before is the right way to go about healing? Not really, but to each their own.

Pretty good episode. Picard is actually starting to feel like Picard now. Not Just some cheap imitation.
I did find it odd that Hugh didn’t ask of Geordi once. I expected that to be his first line.
Still don’t like the Raffi character. They should kill her off.
7/10

Just a heads up ... you don't need to use SPOILER Tags.
The entire thread is already tagged.
:techman:

Also, she hit on him first.
She was the instigator, not Chris.

I wonder if next weeks episode will end with Jean-Luc saying "Hello Will" ?

For all we know Hugh and Geordi have spent the last decade corresponding with each other. Hugh is even stated to have Federation citizenship now, I think I heard?

Maybe Geordi has been doing a better job at keeping in touch with people and he contacts Hugh regularly. Picard is the one that is off the grid.

Thanks for the heads up.
I realized after I posted it that I left out that detail.

It's funny, I really, really am going to be pissed if Hugh is killed. And Hugh to me has always been a one episode character (I really am not a fan of Descent II), as I truly think I,Borg is one of the best character episodes for Picard (only a 4 or 5 are better Picard episodes in my Book) and Guinan (my favorite Guinan episode) in all 7 seasons. Never judged that episode on what impact it might have on future Borg stories.

And the opposite end is I wasn't bothered at all that they killed Icheb, though I thought it was a great way of showing a fast and very believable reason to have Seven be so obsessed with Vengeance.

Perhaps this will be the focus of Season 2?
Jean-Luc fighting for the Federation to recognize the XB's status.

Seven and the EMH Doctor will also lend their support as well, as
Jeri Ryan is likely to return as a special guest star in S2 and Bob Picardo is in talks to reprise his role with the show-runners as well

Heh ... you don't have to hide your "Guesses".

And it's already been discussed in the open that Picardo may be brought in for Season 2.
But we don't know it for a fact yet.

.

Hugh is going to become Borg Terminator Model X-2000 (Seven is Model X-7000):hugegrin:;);)

Do you think he's gonna say this line to Narek and/or Rizzo before he 'terminates' them?

We already lost one teen Borg character (RIP Icheb).

I think lots of people are going to be pissed if 'young adult' Hugh is also killed off soon after....
While it is a possibility, I really don''t think that it is likely to happen.

If Rizzo roughs Hugh up too much, she could end up with a XB riot on her hands.

Seriously do you even pay attention.

Grima had been hitting and lusting over Eowyn for a while (at least in the books), and was never someone she was attracted to, in fact the opposite. She is grieving for her brother, and he try to manipulate a relationship with her.

In this case, Rios might know they worked together, I recall no general announcement about how close they were. And she hits on him. There is never a knowledge of either character being repulsed by the other. And it's out an out addressed that this would be a brief bit of escape from grief. It's actually not uncommon for people who are in degrees of grieving to seek emotional comfort through intimate relations. Neither is trying to take advantage of the other.

So yeah, there is nothing similar about the situations, and how they occur here.

I was expecting them to escape by Borg Sphere, but I suppose the Cube is too damaged to do that.

Yes, I read the entire Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales etc. multiple times... Even the History of Middle Earth Series and both volumes of Book of Lost Tales. Gee, great way to make your argument by accusing a multiple time Tolkien reader of not paying attention just because a statement does not agree with your viewpoint. How many times have you read the Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings?
