Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I'm not sure where to write this or if this was ever touched upon before, but I've just begun pondering the human characters in this series after seeing Gabriel Hwang, and I just realized how much more diverse humanity is in PIC than in previous series. Rios is Brazilian/Portuguese, Raffi Musiker has a German name, and has had a son with an apparently Korean or Chinese man; Picard's doctor Moritz Benayoun from the Stargazer has a Moroccan Jewish name, and Rizzo's cover identity is presumably Italian or at least Italian American. I find this quite a refreshing variety after the practically all-American Berman era.

Hey, Picard was French and Miles Irish and..uh...yeah, you're right

Off-Topic: Back in 1997, I bought a Klingon headpiece. Just the forehead and the hair. I thought I lost it years ago.

Right now, I'm going through a bunch of old stuff... and I just found it! As in literally just right now. All I need is to put on brown make-up, get a fake beard, and I'm good to go if I ever want to be a Klingon again for Halloween.
Pictures.

Pictures.

Okay. I don't have any pictures from 1997 (I did once upon a time, but who knows where they are now?)

But here's from 2020...

The costume in my hand:

And putting it on:

Heh ... you posted something akin to that a few years back and I don't know exactly why I vividly remember that.

Also, has anybody ever told you you could be this guys cousin...

That was me dressed as a Maple Tree. Only difference is, it was a full costume. @fireproof78 asked me on the fly, and I found this thing less than two hours ago. No time to do a proper costume.

If the wind gets powerful enough. :p

Heh ... Just invest in a couple of cans of Aqua Net/Extra Super Hold.
My sister and the Mrs. swear by it.

I looked it up, and it seems you're right. Thank you for the correction!
:)

Meant to add earlier, according to Chileans on Twitter and Tumblr (who are very excited about Chilean representation in sci fi), Rios and the ETH each used different and distinct Chilean dialects - the ETH uses much stronger vernacular, while Rios's accent is more neutral (probably closer to Cabrera's own, he's the son of a diplomat and grew up abroad).
