I only see that happening if there is one day a Picard episode which is a follow-up of a particular TNG episode. Indeed, that's the only reason Disco's If Memory Serves did a recap using footage from The Cage, because it was a follow up of The Cage.

Well yeah, that's what I was meaning. What other reason would there be?
How about a follow up to Inner Light that completely ignores that shitty comic from a few years ago (though that comic did involve Romulans)? It would be the type of episode that would fit with this version of Picard.
Meh, The Inner Light's kind of overrated.
It's a love it or hate it kinda episode, for sure. It did show us how deeply Picard could be affected by an event like that.

Yeah, no thanks. We don't need "Hey, remember this?" reminders. Although it would be fun if they did Pop-Up Video style blurbs for every scene!... and I just looked it up. Pop-Up Video premiered in 1996. Ugh. So, there was this show, right, where they showed videos and thought balloons of trivia would arise to explain....
Anyway, I think the way they've approached callbacks thus far is tactful and subtle. The images in the news reel spanning TNG season 1 through Nemesis were great. If they did something similar in the future, I'd totally be up for that.

Who? The OP? Maybe he’s just disappointed by all the naysayers. The internet can be a cold lonely place. I think it’s a touching idea, and how great was it on DSC? It doesn’t have to be a continuation of TNG or anything of the like, just a cute nod to the fans. Eh, why not, if they can find an apt place for it?
Depending what happens when Picard meets Hugh, they could always splice some "I, Borg" footage into the recap.
the only two times in recent TV history that kind of stunt worked was in the already mentioned DSC episode and in Doctor Who's Twice Upon A Time.
One of the reasons both times worked was that there were new actors playing iconic roles from the 60s and both episodes had the original footage transitioning into the new actors to make it clear they are playing the same character.
So, unless they are doing a Bruce Maddox transition in episode 5, I really don't see the point of it as no other character was recast.

I wouldnt want it to be an old clip from an episode that we have already seen. The Cage had never aired, so it was not something viewers has seen at the time. I am sure that there will be more Picard-era Short Treks. I do think it would be a good idea to use them to show TNG/DS9/VOY characters that we will not see in the show. But where the story is connected to the main show.
