The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

The thing about Power Rangers is it aired on every weekday and they can basically produce an episode with only ten minutes of new footage.

This pitch contest looks fun, let me try.

A hardcore gamer who catches killers by profiling their in-game behavior.

"Detective Dobbs. I just found out our potential perp is the great, great ,great, great, great, great grandfather of Robert E. Lee" I think we might now know who owned the bloody confederate flag we found in the alley." His only albi is the babysitter who we found out is related to Napoleon Bonaparte. Way to short to have been able to see over the trash can dumpster to see the murder happen. I say we bring in him for a interview and see if he confesses."

Hardnosed Detective Mike Spence gets shot by a bad guy and finds himself in a coma. Thanks to medical science people have found away for his partner to enter his dreamscape were she gives him all the info on a case and together they solve the crime by using his subconscious to put all the pieces together and figure it out.

CW is rebooting Walker, Texas Ranger. NBC has a pilot for a show called ECHO, whose premise sounds awfully similar to a recent show on Freeform called Stitchers crossed with Quantum Leap.

Title: Dreamcatcher

Ian Somerhalder is a CBS TV producer whose only claim to success is rebooting older shows. He discovers he has an uncanny ability to gain insight into the criminal mind by recreating copycat killer crime scenes but only when he uses people who are younger and hipper than the actual people who were involved in the crime. Lucy Liu is the no-nonsense cop forced to partner with him in.... Copy of a Copy.

Bakula is talking about a Quantum Leap reboot, although I think it's just chat show banter. I doubt that he's really serious. Here's the quote, anyway:
“I don’t know, I don’t know,” Bakula said. “But I know the fans would love to have a reboot.” What would the 2020 version look like? “There are so many things going on right now that need to be put right, that are currently going wrong, that (Beckett) would be very, very busy. Lots to do.”

That's pretty funny. I didn't know that

I can't find the interview but I remember when the show was on that he had a meeting with CBS to see if they wanted to bring the show back. They passed and went 'But we have this job you might like'.

Hopefully someone here can find the interview and if he was being sarcastic or not. It was 15 years ago.

How is every crappy garbage show gets a second chance and return yet great stuff like Quantum Leap and Northern Exposure are still waiting. It's absurd. Hopefully though someone will also bring Sliders back. Also stick with the idea of exploring worlds were history played out differently instead of that season 3 crap.

What are you talking about? Sliders only has two seasons. ;)

Is the Sliders expert still here? There was someone who is a super fan and all knowing about the show. Sliders will never come back because the owners of it are assholes and won't sell the rights to the creator. Kind of like how Stargate won't come back because MGM is shit and wouldn't sell the rights to Joe Flanigan way back when.
