Unpopular Trek opinions game

Not sure if this is unpopular or not...but it may be...

DS9 has the great Dominion arc, but I think some of the smaller stories and some of the stuff that explores the Bajoran people is amongst the best television in Star Trek.

I agree. I tend to look at DS9 as almost 2 or 3 different shows and I prefer the first few seasons over the Dominion War. Seasons 1-2: Bajoran politics, The Maquis, and lots of good stand alone stories. Seasons 3-5: Dominion Cold War, war with the Klingons, and lots of good standalone shows. Seasons 6-7: Dominion War, Kira and Odo are a couple, Bashir is genetically engineered, Sisko vs.The Pah Wraiths, lots of good serialized episodes.

A few unpopular opinions of my own:

1) Before the Khan reveal, Into Darkness is a good movie. Afterwards it become the worst movie in the franchise with it being derivative of TWOK. They had a good thing going with Harrison with him being a rogue Section 31 agent. The writers should have made him more of an idolizer of Khan to the point of embracing becoming an augment in addition to protecting Khan’s crew, instead of revealing him to be actually Khan. And they could have saved a Khan appearance down the line for a TNG/DS9/VOY appearance in the Kelvin timeline.

2) The Earth-Romulan War never being shown on screen is actually a good thing. As much as it is interesting to watch space battles involving thousands of ships facing each other, and all the dramas and battle tactics that would be used, its just as interesting to see how the conflict is remembered and recorded by those involved. It allows for different interpretations of that event.

3) The Temporal Cold War would have worked if it was set in the 29th century with the time ships. Or focused solely on the Krenim.

4) The instrumental for “Faith of the Heart” during the end credits of Broken Bow should have been the intro theme for Enterprise for the first three season. Fits the wild west vibe in the beginning of the show while staying true to traditional Star Trek themes. Archer’s theme should have been the theme for season four. Basically, showing maturity and progress.

I don't know if Chekov falls in my worst main character list but he sure fits into my worst fake accent list.

It's funny to hear Nimoy say how much he loved hearing Chekov ask directions for the "nuclear wessels" in Star Trek IV.

I was 11 when I saw that in the theater with my mom and my best friend. That scene had me (literally) rolling on the floor laughing!

Great memories.
