Same number of seasons-- twice as many episodes. :rommie:

Season 4. They could still be making it, but they’re economising and trimming the fat, and releasing people from contracts. Actors included.

Oh. Joy. They must be believing it will achieve sufficient lukewarm success, but not by much. If nothing else. I wonder how much of season 3 got whittled down too.

    Thanks for the clarification. :)

So much for Yaphit, I fear... :(

At least the got the Moclan arc mostly done. They look more expensive in the recurring make-up department than the Kaylons...

Worse, I doubt the dynamics and and surprising freshnes of season 1 will make a return - more exploration of strange new worlds (the 2D one was impeccably great but the effects costs are... astronomical, forgive the pun...)

If they are cutting back on the budget than that is a real shame, the show has some great effects and I'd hate to have to see them tone that down.

Perhaps they can take a page from the Trek MacFarlane was on, Enterprise, and switch to 2 and 3 episode arcs to cut costs.

Just to be clear, this is made-up.

There's no reason to think they're doing anything different at all. Season three hasn't premiered yet and we know nothing at all about a season four.

Halon. They do previsualisation. All the smaller VFX companies have been released from contract.

Oh NO! How will the Orville survive in a town with so few VFX companies?!????

Hulu seems to be killing a lot of its programming. I expect that once Disney buys out Comcast's stake it will probably be folded into Disney+ and anything non-Disney in tone or approach will be cancelled, including The Orville if it survives that long.

You don’t provide any evidence for your claim that actors are being released from contracts. In addition your big scoop that a “small but important company” which later you identified as Halon, was ‘released’ is also bunk. Halon’s website proudly explains they had a 9-month contract for 13 episodes. All in the FIRST season of The Orville. Your post was a misinformed lie.

I’d say the new actress that joined the show for Season 3 now auditioning for Silence of the Lambs is evidence enough, and we’ll know in a matter of weeks if she’s cast. That show has at least a 13 episode order. Yes, it’s possible her Orville character is written out of any potential Season 4, or she has a 1 season deal.

Halon have worked on all the seasons, including the one currently in production. Instead of being a prick, maybe just ask how I know... To save you time, I’ll just say. They provide my team (at NECA) the graphics and assets from the show for merchandise. They’re sub contracted to do that stuff, and be hands on. They also do previsualisation.

So take your shitty attitude elsewhere.

We’ll know pretty soon. The 2021-22 licensing info dump comes out next month or April, and if there’s no Season 4 on TV, a company like mine or dozens of others would be interested in getting the license to do it as an RPG or comic. It’ll be listed.

That said, I acquired the rights to do a Lucifer Season 6 RPG, and WBCP retracted that last month. Things can change.

    Chuckle.
Sub-contractors come and go, ALL THE TIME, especially in an industry where pre-vis firms are laying thick on the ground.

Original Lost in Space. But yes Dark Matter is a good recent example.
