La Sirena

Some grabs from the new "season Trailer"
La Sirena slightly more of the top, also sharper on the "fin" it really has a catamaran(ish) look, almost like a faux rudder.

(lol at Rios, just don't give a damn)
And as far as I know, the first interior forward facing shot of the front "window" of La Sirena.

Honestly, beyond Lower Decks and whatever movies they are planning, I’ll happily not see another Starfleet starship-based show for a very, very long time.

It’s a massive universe, and we should be exploring as many different and unique parts of it as possible.

Any sci-fi show can explore the universe. Star Trek has unique elements that differentiate.

Starfleet is Star Trek as a core element, making it a differentiating factor.

A spinoff not based on it directly might be cool and this show just may be the one. Especially if

Picard leaves after season 1 due to whatever reason(s), the ship is renamed "Picard" so the series title can remain the same, et al

But referencing it on the side from time to time wouldn't be amiss either... absconding from "Starfleet" entirely? I'm not so sure...

I know were just supposed complain and whine over the lack of TNG ships, and it's not Picardally "correct" to like anything new here, including the new "hero" ship, Yes I called it that! :D That is what it is, even if it makes the Trek Yard lads cry, sorry.
So take away my starfleet badge. What can I say, I like the new ship.
I'm with Rios! .

Some new shots of La Sirena...

And a good look of the front, controls (dash/helm) and forward windows/canopy.
(just ignore the bottle on the dash, I'm sure they're serving earl gray in the back.)

Lots of wonderful new shots of La Sirena in episode 3
will post some caps.
Also it was quite exhilarating as Picard comes aboard, we get the classic motion picture/next gen. leitmotif.
Then when he for just a second contemplates taking the captains chair, it was quite emotional.

The ship (like it's crew) by design are supposed to feel very un-Starfleet.
And they succeed, this ship is everything (down to the design and even color) opposite of the Capital hero ships we are used to,
And that's what I'm liking about it most. If you are still pining for a Capital Federation hero ship, this isn't going to work for you.
Although as Picard quickly breaks it down (along with it's Captain) it looks like at it's heart is buried the meticulous, ordered core of a federation ship and it's captain.
We've only gotten a hint of what it's capable of (or hiding in it's ugly exterior) yet,
It (and it's quirky Captain) has me very intrigued to see what they can do.

Also (and most importantly) Picard is happily onboard, so what's not to love!
His "engage" (even though I'de already seen it in the trailer) made my heart swell ;)

So I'm getting an SSV Normandy vibe from the La Sirena a whole lot more now. Also, is it just me, or is the Sirena's console the DSC Enterprise console?

Glad to see I'm not the only one here thinking Normandy. Feels closer to the SR-1's design but with reddish hues from the SR-2 in ME3.

I grabed some of the hystirical obsevations when the ship was first revealed in the trailers
All of these are people's real posts:
generic early-mid 90's space combat simulator
looks like cheap generic 70s sci-fi.
paint job of Narn battlecruisers (G'Quan class) from the Babylon 5 tv series
Warhammer 40k movies and the aesthetics stuck
imfluences of the Miradorn-Raider
red paint makes me think of Red Dwarf
Reminds me of the Peregrine in terms of design school
getting a vibe of Dark Matter and Killjoys from it.
Feels like Thunderbirds mixed with Cylon.
looks a bit like a upgraded Maquis ship
makes me think of a Jem'hedar ship
Reminds me of the Normandy
It seriously reminds me of an MCU ship
it looks like spock ship in star trek the motion picture
It feels non Star Trek"
It doesn't look ANYTHING like a Star Trek ship
Just does not feel like star trek
Total counter Star Trek ship design
a dumpy Firefly/Millennium Falcom
It reminded me of the Scimitar actually
It looks like a Mass Effect ship
I thought Defiant ...when I saw those nacelles
It looks like it would fit really well into Star Wars
reminds me of some of the Andorian ships
this could be a Maquis ship
Looks like a Kilrathi design
Sister ship to the Rocinante
looks like the head of a transformer
Look like something from the Dark Matter universe
dont like it
looks like star wars ship
Looks like the Icarus (Star Trek Renegades
Looks like something from Babylon 5
Looks more like a smaller version of a Jem'Hadar cruiser
It looks like something from Firefly
It looks kitbashed using the Tim Burton Bat plane and Hatchet Fighter from the Gil Gerard Buck Rogers
Stargate feel
pincer/claw-like look at the bow of the ship has a Breen feel
Looks very Mass Effect
Looks like something from transformers.
it has a "The Expance" feeling
Did the Daedalus (SG-1) and Normandy have a baby
Looks like a Kilrathi ship
could be right out of the Wing Commander
Looks like a Klingon warship with it's neck strut & head cut off
looks like they ripped it right out of Homeworld
It looks like something from Elite Dangerous
It looks more Battlestar Galactica
Lik some Bajoran ships
anyone remember the raider from the TNG episode Gambit
Pick one!
There is such disparate things being referenced there, it's hard to imagine they are all looking at the same ship. Yet they are, everyone must outrageously just see what they want, or they want to reference whatever their go-to first exposure was, in lame attempts to just be dismissive of the new ship. LOL!

After clearly seeing it in ep 3, you know what I see ?
...La Sirena. ;)

I got all confused by the trailers, and was thinking the ship was going to be that old Bird of Prey. Which would have rocked. Oh well.
Why would you think that? The trailers focused on the ship a few times, one of them was it in orbit around Earth.

Right? Just stretch out the nose, adjust the wings to be more in the back and you pretty much got the Normandy.
I've played all 3 games several times, I'm not seeing any resemblance.
