Something I haven't seen anybody mention is that they finally nailed down the dates onscreen. They were the expected dates, but there had been a lot of second-guessing on this.

That's what turbolifts are for.

Chateau Picard producing red wines goes back to TNG.
So it is 2399 and he is 94 that year then.

Nice to have that confirmed, one less thing to trigger pointless arguments about.

I guess the prequel comics are a must-read if I want details. I want to know when he finally became an Admiral, what rank admiral he was when he retired, all that stuff. Hopefully they will show some of it through flashback though.

He's already a full admiral (4 pips) in the comics

Assuming that La Barre is located in Burgundy I'm pretty sure Chateau Picard makes some excellent Pinot Noir.
I believe it is in Franche Comté, which does produce some reds, but is better known for its whites and its "yellows."

Comics won't tell you any of that.

The Dominion War changed the whole Alpha Quadrant, and not for the better. I hope that tulaberry wine idea was worth the trouble, Quark.
Before that all the wars were what you would call local.

It was the first Intergalactic War, where it was a case of Alpha/Beta vs Gamma.

The wars are only going to get bigger, this is my one bugbear with STO timeline, that the Romulans, Klingons and Federation would be stupid enough to be at each others throats knowing that there are other Empires/Federations/Dominions out there that easily rival the entire Alpha/Beta quadrants and they will not be friendly.

Its not really believable, hence why I believe someone triggered the Star to put the brakes on the Alpha/Beta alliance.
