And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I'm still mad at HBO for cancelling Carnivale. They slashed the budget for season 2 and we still got a good story. Just as we were on this seeming cusp of sci-fi/fantasy genre programming about to explode across the networks, they pull the plug on one of the best shows it ever had. Since I no longer have HBO and didn't see Watchmen, I'll go with the creator who says his vision was fulfilled and call it good.

I was quite late to Carnivàle but I'm also mad that it was cancelled. Hurts almost as much as Firefly and Farscape (and it least the latter got four seasons and eventually a relatively proper conclusion).

I skipped the least episode when I found out the show had been cancelled.

Was also surprised that my Grandfather watched (didn't think it would be his cup of tea).

The last episode was fantastic and perfectly laid the groundwork for the 3rd season. What really pissed me off were the HBO suits who tried to say that the end of season 2 tied everything up perfectly and that the story had come to a satisfying conclusion. Pffffft!!

Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler have been cancelled by Hulu before even reaching our screens. Disney being Disney.

Please tell me that that is one show, and not three.

Actually, turns out to be 3 shows, because the team up show with all four of the planned the animates series, The Offenders, has been cancelled as well. Probably Modok and Hit Monkey will be killed after one season, but are too late in production to be deleted by starvation diet Disney.

Or a true crime podcaster! Oh, wait, they're already doing that show on Apple+

I was going to say, it be a podcast and no writing at all.
Just because someone else is doing the same show hasn't stopped networks forthe last 30 years of cop and hospital shows. ;)

Murder She Wrote and Columbo only worked because of the lead. However the same can be said with Magnum PI and MacGyver and that didn't stop CBS.

Not many cop/hospital shows are reboots. And it's not hard to reboot a show and find a new lead that will make it work. Been successfully done dozens of times.

That wasn't my point. My point is every cop and more so hospital, show is the same. So if AppleTV+ or whatever that junk is called is doing a crime fighting podcaster that wouldn't stop a new Murder She Spoke from happening.

The best example is that Psych used to make fun of The Mentalist for stealing it's plot.
