I'm guessing that Maddox must have collected a bit of Data's Positronic's during the episode "Measure of a Man" and was able to secretly develop it further.

I disagree. I think if you bring Data back it would undermine his death and also it's not really fitting with the mood of the show were things like death and the passage of time is treated with realism like we experience them in real life. I think at most we might get a kind of automated message or we will see one of his memories recovered, kind of like find a recording of someone you loved and has died only for it to bring the pain back or maybe even be something that makes Picard happy to hear his friends voice again or for the girl to sort of meet her dad even if only for a short moment.

Jason

Perhaps we get to see a holorecording of Data from his time aboard the Enterprise-E, similar to how Data kept a holorecording of Tasha Yar as a cherished reminder of their friendship?

Do you think Maddox left a map in her so that they could find him? :)
I wish they just went with the novel idea. With Soong still being alive with his conscious inside a more advanced android than Data’s that looks human which he later sacrifices for Data.
There’s even Borg in that story.

Neither android was destroyed, unlike Data himself. Maddox would have had a field day experimenting with the positronic brains of both of Data's brothers, neither of whom could put up a fight and resist anything he did.

Agreed.

I even have a thought as to why Spock was not mentioned. Since the Abramsverse happens in an alternate reality/timeline, the Ambassador Spock that arrived there could very well be a DIFFERENT Spock than our universe Spock. A lot of things happened the same for both universes, but subtle things may be different. Might also explain why the supernova was explained in a simpler way here.

Spock left the Prime timeline and created the new one. But he was definitely "our universe"'s Spock. There was no 2nd universe until he (and Nero) got sent back.

I have enjoyed Discovery and don't really have a bad word to say about it, and I am really looking forward to the next season... However, after watching this episode I am far more excited about what Picard is going to bring. I had tears in my eyes a few times during this episode, Patrick Stewart has slipped back into character seamlessly. I believe him- and I hope whatever he is setting out to do, he can help the Federation reclaim the ideals that seem to be slipping away from it in the face of all the turmoil they've had to endure over the last few decades.

Huh? You are incorrect. The Abramsverse was the prime timeline until Nero went back in time and altered the prime timeline, and the Abrams movies were a result of that. The Spock that arrived there was the Spock from the prime timeline (the same exact Spock you saw in TOS, the TOS movies, and in that TNG episode).

That guy at the end acted more a teen heartthrob at the end than a Romulan. Very strange to see a Romulan act like that.

Yes but he’s making a point that the events told in this don’t match up with what Spock says in ‘09 making people think that it might be a different Spock. I did find it odd that they didn’t mention him.

He was probably just a baby or a toddler when the Supernova happened... I am sure their whole society and culture has completely changed in that time and we may see Romulans acting a little differently than we are used to.

Is he the first Romulan with a British accent in the franchise? I can't remember any British actors playing Romulans with speaking roles before PIC.

How didn't the events told in this match with what Spock said in Star Trek 09? I might have to rewatch this episode. Maybe I missed it lol.

The 2009 movie never specified it was the Romulan sun that went supernova, only that a star went nova and threatened the galaxy. Romulus was in the path of its destruction.
