Since Enterprise I would say.
surprised the interviewer hasn’t seen Dunkirk. It’s a good movie.
Now that would have been funny. He says Dunkirk and she mishears it as Kirk. She might not know Dunkirk but I bet she knows Kirk. So her knowledge of history I am guessing isn't all that bad.

I was waiting for... "...history has a way of repeating itself ..." to come from Jean Luc's lips.
Might still be heard later on...
I'm thinking that she is very aware of Dunkirk (both the occurrence & the movie), but due to the 'Synths" being involved most folks don't equate the Mars attack in such a manner. She might not know Dunkirk but I bet she knows Kirk. So her knowledge of history I am guessing isn't all that bad.

I kept waiting for somebody to call her Lal.Woke up around 5:30 to watch this. Couldn't stay up till 3 AM.
On the whole, it was lovely. Stewart's acting, as many have said, has only improved with time. Isa Briones was great as Dahj as well. There were times that she was on camera with Stewart I honestly got a bit misty eyed. The cinematography was fantastic, with none of the weird camera tricks that I find distracting on Discovery. I love that we're back to slower--paced "space drama"- because that's always been my favorite sort of Trek.
That said, I didn't think the episode was perfect. On a ten point scale, I'd maybe rate it an eight. Two scenes kinda dragged and brought me out of the show a bit. One was Picard's interrogation by the reporter. The other was his whole interaction with Jurati near the end of the episode. In both cases it was clear that the writers wanted an infodump to bring the viewers up to speed on things, but it came across as awkward because things were being explained that everyone should have known in universe. That said, it was a relatively minor issue.
Poor B4, he just blew a fuse and died with all of Data's stuff inside him.^
She might be in a future episode. Lal is more well-known within the fanbase than Bruce Maddox and he got at least two or three name drops in the premiere.
I was expecting one of Daystrom at the Institute.I'm still hoping to see a portrait of Jonathan Archer hanging inside Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco.![]()
How do I put this? This is Star Trek as a prestige drama.
