Will We See Guinan

Here’s the video clip of Patrick Stewart asking her:

That was wonderful. I am very happy that Guinan will be making an appearance in S2. Guinan was an important character in TNG, who had a strong bond with Picard. And the scenes between Guinan and Picard in TNG were always powerful and memorable. Guinan definitely deserves to appear in ST: Picard. I suspect that Guinan will provide Picard with some much needed wisdom and perspective. And I think the reunion between Guinan and Picard will be wonderful. Can't wait.

I wonder if they'll try and de-age her through CGI, or come up with some rando explanation why someone from a species which doesn't age a day for centuries ages suddenly over the course of two decades.

I suppose they could just explain that El-Aurians go through a period of rapid aging immediately prior to their terminal decline? Though this would conflict with both her parents being alive and healthy while TNG was on.

If she's anything like some people I know, she'll stay looking the same forever and ever and then suddenly she'll age all at once. My father looked the same from his 20s to somewhere in his 50s, and then all of a sudden...

Cramming fan service in every nook and cranny.
I did not want Picard to become a reuinion show, but I felt she was always a character that might belong in it. She and Picard have a special relationship, not entirely understood by the audience, even though its stated to exist. Guinan also does factor into some of the decisions that led to the events of this series, especially Hugh.

I'm just wondering if the show is going to have anything original to present when all is said and done. I understand wanting to spend a season getting one's feet wet, but to keep going back to the well is going to get tedious, just like it has on Discovery.

Just like with Discovery you're forgetting that there are other characters on Picard at the mere sight of someone you know from before. 99% of your focus is on Guinan and Data and Riker and Troi. 1% on Musiker, Dahj, Rios, and I'm still learning the names.

I don't think Guinan's going to be a major character. We'll just see her for whatever story reason. That's it.
