Will We See Guinan

Mcdougal, Argyle, Logan, Lynch, LaForge. I suspect there were 3 chiefs (1 per shift) in season 1, with Lynch replacing Logan after he was fired for insubordination.

There were assistant chiefs of Shimoda and Singh too.

Well don't read it!

I'm gonna have to PhotoSop this to come to terms with it. Be back later.

ETA: Any more Enterprise D engineers? I need 3 more.

There is a possibility that every one of those characters will figure prominently in the new Picard series.

Then again....there is also a possibility that they will not.

I'd definitely like it if we did. Especially if he's facing some sort of moral conundrum as it seems. Having her as his sounding board would be perfectly logical.

My money is on Leyland T. Lynch. No character better captured the spirit and intent of the TNG-era than this fine, stalwart Engineer.

...Or I riot.

I mean no disrespect, but these kinds of threads always drive me crazy. Endless speculation on just about any character who ever appeared in the show and the possibility of their return is kind of a waste of time.
These aren't just random character though, these are characters who all have a very strong connection to Picard, and played big roles in a lot of his most significant episodes. I'd say Q and Guinan are just as important to Picard's character as people like Riker, Troi, and Data.

Leland T. Lynch is important too.

If they're going to bring anyone back, it needs to be him or DaiMon Tarr. If the writers know anything about the TNG era and Picard, they'll not make the egregious error of overlooking Lynch and Tarr.

I suspect over time we're going to see just about everyone from TNG. To be honest, I'm real surprised that Riker and Troi are appearing so soon -- though I'm sure they are just going to be there for a few minutes and not be crucial to the overall arc.

Wasn't it Bok who's son Picard killed or was that Tarr?
I don't remember any kind of close connection for Picard and Lynch, or him and the Borg or Romulans? Is there a specific reason they'd want to bring him back?
Like I said before, I'm only expecting to see people who are closely connected to Picard or other elements of the show. Pretty much any of the TNG regulars are probably fair game, but beyond that I'm not expecting to see to many other people without a very specific story reason behind their return.
Seven and Hugh are returning because the Borg are involved, and The Doctor's potential appearance is Season 2 is probably because of his experience with the Borg and possibly Seven specifically. The presence of Soong style androids in the trailers could also possibly point to AI being a big part of the show, so that could also possibly be another reason the Doctor is coming back

I just had a thought. If Galaxy Class starships were new at the time, then those three could've been trained to be Chief Engineers on Galaxy Class starships about to be commissioned. When they went off, Picard decided that instead of requesting for a new Chief Engineer, he'd promote Geordi internally.

Yes, that's the generally accepted reason for why there were so many chiefs in season 1

True I just rewatched I borg on tv a few weeks ago it's been interesting the channel that I watch Star trek TNG on has been showing the episodes connected to the new Picard series storylines.
