I don't mind that as much. It's a big galaxy, lots of stuff has got to be happening that wasn't explicitly the plot of a series episode or movie. If the Romulans captured a cube—hell, even if they went and finished off the Borg after Janeway was done with them—and this is just dropped in dialogue, I would be OK with it.

In the scene with Picard and the admiral, they mention that "Voyager is officially non-canon from now on." "Well, except for Seven of Nine." It's a little awkward and off-topic, but it clears a lot up.

 Is it like a little bit of text that blinks on the bottom of the screen for a while, to alert the viewer?

Admiral: The Borg are totally still alive.
Picard: But we saw them die in "Endgame"!
Admiral: There is no "we" anymore, Jean-Luc!

Any indication on why Picard retired, and why Romulus' population was destroyed despite Federation efforts at evacuation (thus explaining why Nero was angry in the 2009 film)?

Picard finally caught up with Voyager on Netflix and promptly quit Starfleet.

There are some early reviews over at imdb. Too "left wing" and the show ripping off "The Expanse " from the first 2 reviewers who claim to have seen it. Taking it with a grain a salt ofcourse. Way too small sample size and it's possible those 2 reviewers had preconceived agendas of their own prior to watching the show.

Yes and this is a BIG spoiler, so proceed at your own risk....

Picard persuaded the UFP/Starfleet to mount a massive evacuation with 10,000 ships. It was supposed to rescue 900 million Romulans. The rescue fleet was being built at Utopia Planitia.

After the synth attack wrecked the in-progress fleet, Starfleet abandoned their rescue plans. Picard threatened to resign unless they changed their minds. They didn't. Picard resigned.

    The rescue fleet....never happened.

It's not clear with the Romulan casualty numbers were or what their reaction was or what the political state even is between Romulus and the UFP.

Picard's Romulan friends suggest the Tal Shiar was involved in the attack, but Picard doesn't believe they would have sabotaged their own rescue.

That sounds intriguing. That still leaves room for the Iconians to be responsible for Hobus (so STO has less background rewriting to do) and would justify lone Spock sorting the situation by himself.

    Were any episode titles revealed?

    Thanks!
Whoa, this gives Nero way more motivation to hate the Federation now if he discovered they knew all along Romulus would be destroyed and decided not to help after the synth attack.

Spock's ship was still commissioned by the Vulcan Science Academy though. Interesting. Perhaps it was on loan to Spock, and Romulus, after the synth attack and withdrawal of Fed assistance, then placed all their hopes on him stopping the supernova, which failed.

Are there flashback sequences during the episodes?

Wow, thanks for providing spoilers, @Crewman6 . It seems some of my speculation the past couple months turned out to be true, especially Dahj's identity. It's very interesting about Maddox's involvement in all of this, as there was talk that one Andorid seen in the trailers (F-8) looked an awful lot like Brian Brophy.

    I do find it odd
that Starfleet would just up and cancel the rescue armada after the Synth attack, though. Move forward at a reduced scope, sure, but not abandon the efforts completely. I'm guessing that's indication they know who was really behind the attack...

@Crewman6, it’s just occurred to me... are these spoilers all isolated to the first episode? Might be some folk who don’t come in here until they’ve seen the first episode, who may unintentionally see spoilers for other episodes, otherwise?
