it's gonna be a wild spoiler storm... I can never resist them. I was glad I read spoilers for the last 4 movies though, cause they prepared me for the odd things I didn't like. If I hadn't read that Spock is more emotional and Vulcan is destroyed, and Harrison is Khan, it would've bothered me more. Vague spoilers like impressions or "some known thing will appear, and it's awesome if you liked that old episode..." can be quite interesting as long as they don't reveal every detail.
Yeah, and then technically have to wait longer than anyone else to see how the cliffhanger would be resolved haha.
Please make sure to praise the episode in the highest note, even if you think it sucks. You got a great deal of responsibility here, given you are probably the first trekbbs member to post a review. Something like: „What an amazing episode! Like the best of both worlds from TWOK and All good things. Star Trek: Picard just raised the bar in terms of TV science fiction for years to come. This show will change your life and most probably bring peace to the middle east. Oh, and they nailed the CGI on Brent Spiner, he looks like his old self again, forget the bloated Monchhichi„
Honestly, it's incredibly unlikely that I won't love it. It's just not in my bones to go into something looking for negatives.
I don't see any advance reviews yet. I've been looking out for them. If they're positive reviews, then great. But even if they're negative reviews, I'll still be able to gauge what I'll think based upon what it is they're complaining about.
I saw a few reactions to the Picard pilot yesterday while following the TCA stuff on Twitter and they were all extremely positive. A lot more Twitter reactions should be posted tonight after the premiere.
Actually, all I want is (1) for it to NOT be all CGI and explosions and the like; and (2) to see one non-Disco, era-appropriate ship or other tech (tricorder, hypospray, anything). The trailers make it seem like (1) is possible. For (2), I’m not holding my breath.
Honestly, best way to maintain it is to sometimes remove yourself from toxic conversations/websites when the negativity is getting silly.
It'll probably get great scores. I gave "The Vulcan Hello" a 7, that was just on the basis of being excited about new Trek. Looking back, I find it a really poor episode. Sometimes my emotions get the better of me.
I wonder how long the first episode is. Please, @Blooded, even if you're super tired tonight after the premiere, just log on to give us your first impression. And better yet, stay a while and answer all our questions. Hope it was awesome.
The U.S. screening was tonight, which is I believe only for Hollywood types. The UK premier is open admission with a ticket, and is on Wednesday night.
Also, the episode only started airing at 9:30. If this is one of those feature-length episodes it may still be airing. I mean, looking on twitter I see a fair amount of people displaying tickets, taking pictures in line, etc earlier in the night. It's been crickets since, so they're probably all still watching.
The first three episodes are.....okay. I'm a bit underwhelmed. Spoiler Bruce Maddox is the most important man in the galaxy. Don't think anyone called that.
My only two questions so far: Did Data appear in more than one episode? And how did he look (compared to the trailers)?
Looks like everyone is done with the screening. Take this with a grain of salt? Spoiler: Spoilers https://twitter.com/flogo20/status/1216955881230913536?s=21
