NFL 2019 Season

Thanks Titans, now I don’t have to route for Kansas City. Having the game decided on a Brady pick 6 was just plain hilarious.

Great slate of games over the week-end. It appears that he quarterback position may be In the process of being significantly altered for the forseeablel future. Teams are notorio copycats and the ones who need a qb will likely be looking for the next Deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahoney. The NFL has come a long way, while still having a pretty long way to go.

Yeah, Brennaman has the same issue as Chip Caray, in that he's pathologically incapable of shutting the fuck up.

Yep, Chip was another case of "daddy is a hall of famer". It might have been nice to see Chip with Harry, but with Stone, not so much.

Given that I picked one of four games correctly last round and had the Saints reaching the Super Bowl, I realise my credibility is dangerously low, but I see all the home teams winning this weekend. GB/Seattle will be the closest.

Chip did like three games with Harry in 1997. It was a colossal mess.

I missed those. The plan in 1998 was to have them do quite a few games, I assume with Harry going between TV and radio like he did earlier in the 90's?

Yep. Harry knew his time was running out, so he used his pull with the team and WGN--which was substantial, it wasn't like there was much of a reason to watch Cubs games in those days--to get Chip hired. Chip was going to call 40-some games and also keep up his work with Fox Saturday Baseball, Harry would have called around 80, and they'd have done about 40 games together.

Stone was still going to be in the mix, too. I'm kind of glad things didn't pan out, because three-person commentary booths rarely work out.

Predictions for this weekend:

Bills over Texans (this is really a crapshoot as neither team has ever done well in the playoffs and I want both of these teams to succeed)
Patriots over Titans
Saints over Vikings
Seahawks over Eagles

So I went 1-3, but we are left with some possibly easier picks this week:

49ers over Vikings
Ravens over Titans
Chiefs over Texans
Packers over Seahawks

I almost took the Seahawks given that the Packers can't play a complete game, but they haven't won a game at Lambeau in what may be forever. I also bet the 49ers and Jimmy G collapse, but then again, its Kirk "I can't beat teams over .500" Cousins. (Yes, I know he beat the Saints).

Sayonara Minnesota. Titans up. Could be a good day.

Also, coach Cowher is goin' to the Hall. Good choice.

Amazing. I honestly didn't expect the Titans to get past Baltimore. But this sets up the AFC Championship game in Houston if the Texans manage to beat KC tomorrow. Which isn't likely, but I have hope.

Well done Titans.

That was a complete surprise.

49ers vs. Kansas City for the Super Bowl?

Wow Ravens. Didn’t see that coming. Henry is a beast, but that helps explain how he won me the fantasy league :)

at this point, would much rather see Titans in the super bowl over KC, sorry Mahomie.

plus, then it’s ex-Pats QB vs half a dozen ex-Pats players (including the coach), so win win for New England fans.

I'm laughing and crying that Ryan Tannehill has taken the Titans to the AFC Championship game a season after being given up for a fourth round pick by Miami. I'm still unclear why Miami gave up on him?

He beat the Pats throwing for like 75 yards so the phrase “Tannehill took” is probably not a great choice of words. More like “Henry sacrifices career longevity for miracle post season run.”

The Texans is killing the Chiefs so far...
