R-rated "Galaxy Quest"?

^Just watched Year of Hell this afternoon. Seven reflects on how much she's learned about being human. The ship's so hard up on space she has to share a room with an ensign. And so hard up on crew that even Neelix is a fully uniformed tactical officer. Yet no uniform for Seven. SMH.

What's that got to do with her skintight bodysuits and being Borg/part Borg? I know the tried to explain it inshow by helping her heal after some Borg implants were removed but after a while that excuse was just superflous.

Let's face it.. she was eye candy for male audiences, especially teenagers, whom the producers considered their core demographic. When the ratings started to drop their solution was to sex it up, plain and simple.

As i said, it would have been cool to properly induct her into Starfleet after a season or two and give her the uniform. It would show character progression and integrate her even more into the crew (and allow Ryan to maybe eat a Burger once in a while )

It's just one of the things Voyager missed to become a unique show and find its own style, as it stands it was just a lesser cousin to TNG when it could have taken Trek to a quite different path.

I don't now if they should have made her a member of Starfleet, but they should have at least let her wear normal clothes.

I can't see Seven rushing to join the very people who tried to throw her out an airlock.

With all the emphasis on "being human", Seven may well have equated "joining Starfleet" with "cease being Borg".

Furthermore, the Borg were/are official enemies of the Federation. It may well have been awkward diplomatically for her to join Starfleet.

I don't now if they should have made her a member of Starfleet, but they should have at least let her wear normal clothes.

Most of the guys I know who were hot for her were middle aged men. But back then, there seemed to be a lot of 40 something fanboys who were obsessed over emotionless female scifi hotties who were directed to offer up no more than one expression. note: they also lusted after T'Pol and Max from Dark Angel as other examples of this kind of performance.

There are a few movies that got an R rating because of a little language and nothing else. I also seem to remember reading somewhere that Tony Shaloub's character was supposed to be stoned a lot in the movie, and you can see that in certain scenes. Between that, and Sigourney's 'f-bomb' that may have been enough to make it R.
