Spoilers Supergirl - Season 5

honestly you won’t miss much, feels like all of the shows have been kinda stalling for Crisis. For Supergirl, just know that Kara and Lena had it out, Lena is pissed and not friends with the group anymore. Flirted with going full-Lex but backed off for now. That’s why she’s pissy with Alex. Don’t think there’s anything else that played into Crisis thus far.

I'll agree with that. I didn't watch one episode of Batwoman, and it meant nothing for purposes of my ability to watch COIE.

The location for his cameo said 'Gotham - Earth 66'.
Using previous earth number styles, it's meant to imply it's the 1966 TV series universe.

I don't think you can get any more confirmation than that.

I'm talking about through dialogue. What was presented was just a throwaway cameo. In the comic, even characters with small roles were treated with more care about who they were, and were not the result of fan-servicing.

I’ve never watched Arrow, outside of technically the crossover episodes. And know nothing about Black Lighting. Doing just fine, although obviously would have more backstory if I’d seen some Arrow I suppose

Alex was looking at a picture of a Negh'var combined with parts from a Dominion battlecruiser and dreadnought.

Bet there was a visible wince in the graphics department that they used that schematic for the foreground monitor and the less-recognizable (or original, I don't know every damn spaceship) one in the background when they probably intended it to be the other way around. The first rule of cutting corners is to not get caught.

I thought it was silly for the first reason listed...

Stronger: He Is Still Able To Fight After Losing His Powers...

In 2016's "Action Comics" #4, Clark lost his powers after he exposed himself to Kryptonite to destroy his damaged cells (think Kryptonian chemotherapy). However, he was still able to successfully defend himself against the villain Vandal Savage. How? Superman made use of his kinetic energy punch. What's this? It is a special power...

Say what????

That line alone made me laugh and cringe at the same time.

Posting an article like that is the equivalent of saying Kirk Prime's name three times. And that's something nobody wants.

What an amazingly well thought out and tolerant post!

If you read the article though, most of the "weaker" than Supergirl arguments come from the woke TV show. The only one that was actually meritorious was the "conscience" one, which is a poorly worded way of saying that Clark holds back and Kara does not.

Also, "still fight after losing one's powers" is an archetypal attribute of just about any superhero. There's almost always a story where the heroes lose their powers but still do whatever they can to help people because their real heroism comes from who they are rather than what they can do. Heck, Supergirl did that story in its first season, with the earthquake episode.

I'll agree about that. The point is that the hero's heart goes beyond the power levels. You don't have to be the strongest in the world to be a hero. Of course, that's exactly why I think it's absurd for the writers to treat Superman as they have. If the writers had confidence, they wouldn't have needed to wimpify Superman like they did. That's the biggest challenge the writers of Superman and Lois have -- fixing him.

I saw this tweet today, which has a image of a letter to DC comics from 1976, with someone complaining that teaming Robin with Batgirl will make Robin look weak, and that is apparently a bad thing:
https://twitter.com/aarrgghhv2/status/1211620185829978114?s=21

It reminded me of the arguments in this thread.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Should read the tweet it’s responding to as well, showing a letter from someone complaining that a Silver Surfer comic in 1969 had a reference to the Civil Rights movement, and marvels ‘trend’ at the time having black people be the focus of stories.

Not exactly the same. No one is complaining about teaming. It would be more like Batgirl beating Batman in a fair fight, which didn't happen then because it's just as ridiculous as Superman losing to Supergirl (or Batman for that matter).
