Q's SON appeared in Star Trek: Voyager ("Q2").
Perhaps it's time for an appearance by his grandson? ("Q3"?)

There could also be an appearance by Ro if she’s still alive to reconcile with Picard after betraying Starfleet.
They reconciled in the books (twice because of different continuities) so I'm good.

My money is on Leyland T. Lynch. No character better captured the spirit and intent of the TNG-era than this fine, stalwart Engineer.

I mean no disrespect, but these kinds of threads always drive me crazy. Endless speculation on just about any character who ever appeared in the show and the possibility of their return is kind of a waste of time.
There's just as much chance of the Shelliak Captain showing up as Picard's best friend as there is of Guinan coming back. Anything is possible.
