Spoilers Crisis on Infinite Earths Discussion (CW Event Spoiler Thread)

By the way, I checked, and it seems that aside from the season finale of Watchmen tomorrow, there are no live-action DC productions being released anywhere during the gap between Crisis Part 3 and Part 4. And Watchmen is apparently fictional within the Crisis multiverse, at least on Earth-666. So the entire live-action DC multiverse effectively has ceased to exist for the duration! Probably just a coincidence because of the holiday break, but it's a nice convergence that there's essentially nothing to break the illusion.

(Although in animation, there are some new episodes of Harley Quinn, Teen Titans Go!, and DC Super Hero Girls coming out during the gap.)
Even so, Watchmen takes place entirely in September of 2019, so it wouldn't be affected anyway. I mean, if Superman is a fictional character in Black Lightning, and Black Lightning has now met two Supermen (Superman's?), Why should it matter if Watchmen is a fictional Universe on Earth 666? After all, Watchmen heroes and comics have both been established to exist in the DC Comics Multiverse. ;)

Amen to that. And the pre-Crisis Superman was incredible hypocritical, because he and Lois Lane were effectively a couple, so I don't know how many times the bad guys kidnapped her for their nefarious schemes. Still he didn't reveal his secret identity to her for her own good or whatever.

And there are still people out there that are missing the "good old days" of "Superman-Lois-Clark" triangle. WTF guys?!?

Man, remember when Lois kept trying to "out" Clark as Superman in the olden days? She wanted a story. Honestly, THAT was probably the best reason for Golden Age and even Silver Age Superman to keep it a secret. Lois was really kind of a jerk about it. One of the (many) reasons I prefer the Lester Cut of Superman II over the Donner Cut is because of this. Lois is all about exposing the man who saved her life a number of times in the Donner version. While she was still looking to trip him up in the Lester version, she was less obnoxious about it. You felt like she loved him but her reporter's instinct wanted to find out the truth. Maybe reshoots would have helped Donner's version (it needed them badly), but yeah, that was Old School Lois. It actually made her look kind of like an idiot for being that close to Clark every day andnot being able to see past a pair of glasses for decades....

Weisinger Era, friends and neighbours...it may have been needed to keep the franchise alive during bad times, but it's had some toxic side effects in the decades since it ended!

So...do we get to have Conroy play the "Earth-1" version of Bruce in addition to this one?
Some day, in the next couple of years?

It's just that it'd be cool to be able to say that all live-action DC universes were "nonexistent" during the gap between Crisis Parts 3 & 4, because I like the synergy of that, and the Watchmen finale is the one spoiler. So I'm trying to find a rationale for not counting it. ;) If only they'd premiered (and thus ended) the season a week earlier.

As for calendar dates, those don't seem to align across universes, since we've seen universes in Crisis that are "simultaneously" in 2046 and the 19th century, and Lucifer is apparently entirely post-Crisis despite beginning in 2016. So I'm just talking about the chronology of our experience as TV viewers, and how nice the synergy is, even by coincidence.

Well, Golden Age Clark was at least as big a jerk to Lois, constantly cheating her out of stories by using his unfair advantage as Superman -- basically perpetuating the patriarchy and stymieing her efforts to prove herself capable of more than the society column and the fashion page. And that's not even getting into the "Superdickery" era where he was frequently gaslighting her (and Jimmy) to teach various "lessons" that were often kind of sadistic.

What are you going on about now.
I have no idea how this relates to anything to what you quoted.
If Clark went open about being Superman, then Lex Luthor and others, would stop believing that Superman and Lois Lane were cuckolding Clark.

The scarlet letter is an S.

If the want to do something Lantern-related, just let Fillion be Fillion for five minutes.

Phil LaMarr is already on payroll.

Hell.

Kevin Smith was Hal Jordan once, and he is also on the payroll.

If I can be rude... Skinny Kevin Smith is a more convincing Hal Jordan than lunchbox Kevin Smith, even though at the time, it was an Animated Green Lantern, so Kevin's portliness did not matter.

Had to check, but Lyle Wagonner is still alive.

Debra Winger, will probably insist that she wears the original Wonder Girl outfit.

Lynda Carter spinning to the Zimmer theme? Oh yeah.

Phil LaMarr is already on payroll.

Hell.

Kevin Smith was Hal Jordan once, and he is also on the payroll.

I’d like to see Kevin in a GL uniform paired with an ill-fitting green blazer.
