Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths to be 5-Part Crossover

In the US we get Supergirl, then the first after show tonight, and then Batwoman airs tomorrow.

Additionally, Black Lightning will be in its regular slot Monday night.

Are there two separate aftershows? I wasn't sure if the one on Tuesday was a second installment or just a replay of the first.

Why do you keep insisting any of them need to be merged?

A couple reasons..
1. the history that these heroes have been on the SAME Earth for GENERATIONS (media wise)
2. we get rid of the way too convenient dimension hopping
3. Build synergy between the different shows (not so much for writing as much as things like social media buzz and ratings-to sustain the shows)
4. Easily add in guest (or even recurring ) characters from shows, who wouldn't be prone to having dimension hopping tech (like Diggle, for instance).

I have never insisted that "all the Earths need to be merged." What I have said is that I don't agree with those who do expect the Earths to be merged, whether it's all of them or just Earth-1 and Earth-38, because I don't see any good story reason to merge any of them.

I apologize. I was unclear. Your posts make it seem like those pro-merger want ALL universes merged (whether just ones featured in the Arrowverse, or even beyond that).

I don't see how if the characters were on one earth, that would change the tone of each show, or even the "crossover". When they DO cross dimensions, do you REALLY notice any change in tone of the show? And even if it did for that episode, does it change the tone of the ENTIRE show? Because merging won't change the distinction. Arrow & Flash (and Batwoman) regularly ignore the goofiness of Legends, and they are on the same Earth! SO if they don't change being on the same Earth, why would SG or BL?

We will have a sense of this by Wednesday!

Oh and a tangent...but will the WOnder WOman trailer be shown tonight?

I think the issue is dimenson would be impratical to any but core characters. For example with a merged world Joe West could show up in on Supergil business or last year you could have used Anatolly on Supergirl last year during the Russia stuff. Jason

I’ve been avoiding spoilers, does this crossover work without being caught up with every show or is it better to do that first?

The impression I've gotten is that it is two separate specials, one related to each episode it airs before.

Woops, looks it's time to stay away for me, I don't get it for another hour and a half.

Should we have a new thread now that it's here? I feel the event deserves a new one. Mods, thoughts?

Mark

I second that nomination...one where we don't need spoilers!

It begins!

Titans! Also who was that reading the newspaper on Earth-89?

I had to look it up...apparently a reporter from the 1st 2 Batman movies.

Now, was Earth 89 and Earth 66 both destroyed?

Evidently not Earth 9...and ideas for that designation? Is it the 9th Berlanti production?

In the post show, they said all of them were destroyed, including Earth 9.

Also, Alex was looking at a picture of a Negh'var combined with parts from a Dominion battlecruiser and dreadnought.

The Crisis Aftermath show just had Kevin Smith "win" a trivia game even though one of the answers he gave was incorrect.

Despite what the show said, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze would be found on Earth-89, not Earth-97.

Do your homework, people.
