I've not read the 36 previous pages. Yes, Rey is a Mary Sue. Of course, I'm not all that crazy about Episodes I-III, VII, VIII and don't hold much hope for IX. I'm a grumpy old man. Rey had potential in the first few minutes of TFA, but I lost that spark by the end of the movie.
I prefer Jyn Erso and mourn her death. Rogue One is my third favorite movie in the franchise
I love me some Q'ira and would greatly appreciate seeing her in further adventures. Solo is my fourth favorite movie in the franchise.
Hera, Sabine, and Asoka are awesome. More, please!
What a Mary Sue! How can I honestly be expected to realistically believe someone without a penis could possibly be fluent in over-

Anakin was powerful too. Should that require an apology as well?
Yes. Well, all of TPM requires an apology.
That does not make it any less a part of Star Wars.Yes. Well, all of TPM requires an apology.
Does a wampa shit in the snow?So you've previewed that particular parody porn previously?
No, it’s just how Star Wars and the Force works.https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/star-wars-rise-of-skywalker-leia-george-lucas
So here we've been arguing that she really is no better then Luke or Anakin... and turns out that she really was written to be better?
That's a very big plot point Abrams just dropped.
Right, I am just saying I didn't really see her as MORE powerful than Luke. I figured that was something sexists made up...No, it’s just how Star Wars and the Force works.
The people who complain just don’t understand either.
Rey is powerful because the Force needs to be balanced.
The midi-chlorians disagree with you. She’s not. There’s no such thing as someone being more or less power in the Force. It’s all about the Force and the will of the user.
Rey just does things that Luke never chose to do.
To be honest, it would explain her nascent abilities, including the ability to break Emo Ben's hold on her mind.
How interesting.... what if Emo Ben really sucks at using the Force, and was able to surprise his Uncle with the help of Snoke? Ha! That changes things...Quite honestly, I'm not sure a non-Force user wouldn't be able to break that mind hold from Kylo Ren. He may be a Darth Vader fan boy, but I was mostly unimpressed with his use of the Force.
No, not really, he's presumably got a penis. That's all there is to it.
I'm not so sure. The big criticism of Smoke is that he has no backstory. In fact his background is so blank there are no facts to conflict with any skills seen. The Emperor works the same way, all skills are assumed to have been gained legitimately in this mysterious past.
Even with the questions remaining about Rey's past, what they have shown us appears to conflict with the skill set. Why does no one object to Luke leveling up in ROTJ? Because he had three years of off screen development for us to stick explanations in. We've seen Rey every day since she discovered see has powers (and were told about her life since arriving in Jakku). The lack of time jump after TFA was a horrible mistake.
The only hope of salvaging her story is to take her only blank area, her time before Jakku, and revealing some sort of rationalizing factor.
You will note no one is using her time before Jakku to explain her powers right now, because as far as we know, that was before she was aware of the Force and thus irrelevant. Abrams can fix that.
In my opinion, Rey's background is exactly why she can open herself up to the Force-she had to live by her instincts. You will note no one is using her time before Jakku to explain her powers right now, because as far as we know, that was before she was aware of the Force and thus irrelevant. Abrams can fix that.
Can’t believe a couple posters suggested Kylo isn’t strong in the force. He literally stops and holds a blaster bolt in his opening scene. Pretty sure that demonstrates his power.
