The Dark Crystal Prequel Series Coming To Netflix

What happens after the movies has already been covered in the comics Power of the Dark Crystal, and Beneath The Dark Crystal.

And the story was really good, too. I'm just wondering where can they go from here. The first Garthim soldier has been built, but are they really going to go into the slaughter of the Gelfling civilization?

I don't think so. I read something saying there were five years (I think) between this and that, so there's room to fit in a whole series before we get there.

I didn't even know those existed. Has there been any other shows/movies besides this one and the original?

So I finally got a chance to watch the season and I think it's pretty good overall. :) I really like that, despite the production being a monumental task, it's clear that everyone really wants to do justice to Jim's original work and wanted to make things fit as closely as possible. I think one thing I've always liked is that Thra has a very organic look to it, and I'm glad they decided to go with Gelfling puppets to help keep the visual aesthetics balanced. The CGI Gelfling used for the test reel looks pretty good, but I very much agree with the perception that she doesn't fit as well aesthetically with the traditional puppet Skeksis.

I think my two favorite visual additions are the Skeksis chariots and Lore. There are several books that will be available soon to tie in with the series, and I definitely have my eye on the art/production book. I hope there will be another season, because I'm now interested in whether Deet goes dark Jedi. ;)

I really need to finish this up. I haven't watch it since the new season of regular TV started.

Still hopeful for a season 2. Have any hints or announcements been made? Things seem to have been quiet on the HensonCorp front. Nothing new on their website.

I haven't heard anything either but Netflix generally takes a few months before announcing a second season for any show. Fingers still crossed...

I have a general Netflix question, but I don't feel like starting a whole thread so I'm just going to ask it here.
I was on the Netflix website yesterday, and I couldn't find the episode list for Age of Resistance or any of the other shows. It use to come up in a drop down menu after I clicked on the show, but I can't find anyway to pull it up. Am I missing something, or do they just not let you pull up the episode lists on the website anymore?

I'm still able to see the episode list, though it's not a drop-down menu (never has been for me), but an option at the bottom of the "banner" that appears when you select the show from your list (between "Overview" and "Trailers & More").

Yeah, that was what I meant, there was usually an arrow that you clicked to get all of that stuff to pop up, but last night it wasn't coming up.
I just checked and it's still not coming, now when I click the show, the description of the next episode and the option to play it comes up, but there's nowhere to get the episodes, trailer, ect. to come up.

Your interface sounds different from mine. I've never (under the current format) been able to get it to display the episode selection except as a horizontal row of thumbnails that you have to scroll through five at a time, which is woefully inefficient. As far as I know, they abandoned proper episode lists years and years ago.

For me after you picked the show it would come up in with an arrow on the bottom of the whatever picture came up with the title, when you clicked on the arrow another menu would pop up where you could click through the episode list, and it also had an option to pick trailers instead.

Oh, that arrow. I was thinking of My List, but you're talking about the general show listing. Yeah, I'm still seeing the arrow same as always.

Watched episode 7, Time to Make... My Move this morning.
The Heretic and the Wanderer were hilarious, they pretty quickly became two of my favorite characters on the show.
The Ascendancy was interesting, I did not expect the Arathim to be Spider-Borg.

they just announced Sex Education season 2 and that season aired on January I think. Unless it’s a major hit like Stranger Things, it seems like Netflix takes a long while to announce new seasons of shows.

I watched the last couple episodes this morning, and they really were great. I loved this series.
We got some pretty impressive fight scenes in the last episode. I don't even want to image how complicated something like that must be to choreograph on a puppet show like this.
The death and rebirth of Aughra really caught be off guard.
I was really sad to Maudra Fara die, I liked her.
The creation of the Garthim was a nice place to end to season.
Definitely very anxiously awaiting word of a second season.

You should check out the art/production book that was recently released for AoR. It gets into some nice details about both the overall design of the series with the goal of being faithful to the original movie, and the challenges of doing the production itself. The guy who built and performed the miniature puppets for the puppet show done by the Heretic and Wanderer was someone the production team hired off YouTube because his puppet videos are there.

I watched the making of documentary this morning, and it really is incredible the amount of work that went into making AoR.
