CW Looking to Add New Arrowverse Series in 2020

So with "Green Arrow and the Canaries" and now "Superman and Lois Lane" in the works the question is what current Arrowverse shows will bow out to make room for these two?

Supergirl on Sunday

The flash will need a companion show on Tuesday

Legends of Tommorow is a midseason starter

Supergirl and Superman on Sunday?

I thought you were going to ask what the next spinoff in the same vein might be. Ooh, how about Elongated Man and Wife? A superhero version of Macmillan and Wife. That could be cool -- Ralph and Sue solving mysteries-of-the-week. Although these days every CW mystery show has to have a season-long arc.

I think I saw something recently where David Ramsey said that they were going to resolve the whole Green Lantern thing. I can't help but wonder if there might be a third new show coming?
 
It's kind of funny. I have a hard time even conceiving of an Arrowverse show that could possibly interest me less than Green Arrow and the Canaries. OTOH, Superman & Lois Lane is the DC show I wanted more than any other, and I'm ecstatic at the announcement. So ... something for everybody, I guess?
 
Everyone's talking about Supergirl's low ratings and how the show might be canceled to make way for "Superman and Lois Lane"

It does seem like a Superman show would be stepping on Supergirl's toes.

As far as ratings... yeah, Supergirl is under a million...(according to Wiki) but, it's not like the Flash is much better, it's under 1.5 million viewers, also according to wiki. Maybe the streaming market helps--but, there's no ad revenue there.

It does beg the question: why is the CW doubling down on this universe?

It's the CW business model. If you look at the average ratings for all of their shows for the 2018-19 regular season, the Flash was #1 with 1.7M viewers, followed by Supernatural with 1.4M and Riverdale with 1M. Their lowest rated show was Crazy Ex Girlfriend which had .4. I listened to a podcast once with a development exec from the CW (I believe it was a Nerdist Writers Panel) who said that's what they do. They deliver a very specific audience to advertisers, and make money in other revenue streams, such as on their website and streaming services which is how they stay in business. She said their network is just generally a very low rated network, and they've found a may to make that work for them and that allows them to continue to renew very low rated shows such as Crazy Ex Girlfriend and iZombie.
 
Makes you wonder how much The Netflix paid for the CW stuff.. hmm,
I'm excited with the new superman series, I think its like Captain Pike, here for a minute on screen, but Tyler Nailed it and is quite popular. Though I'll miss Amy Adams as Lois.. She's so hot!

YEah, I just hate that they're off Hulu. I'm a Cord Cutter who watches most of my network TV through Hulu the day after which is how I watched the CW. Since the Netflix deal I either have to wait until the season is over or watch on their app which has ATROCIOUS Chromecast support. Sometimes when it comes back from a commercial block, the audio will be compressed making it sound like all of the actors are huffing helium then it will correct itself after the next commercial block.
 
I'm also a cord cutter, But with the plethora of streaming sites, its becoming more Expensive than cable to keep up with everything.. :brickwall:
 
Given that The CW ended its overall distribution deal with Netflix with the exception of the provisions for all of their currently-airing series (which will last for as long as said series remain on the air), I don't think the channel is making any revenue from Netflix distribution and everything is coming from internal streaming and DVR viewing.

All of The CW's new series from this current season will end up on HBO Max, whereas future new content will be negotiated with streaming services case-by-case.

The CW's entire slate of currently-airing and previously-existing series will continue to be made available on Netflix under the '8 days after the season finale' schedule for as long as they remain on the air.

Is the CW in a standard cable package or a channel the people pay extra for? (not a premium channel such as HBO but still not a freebie).
