News Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiering on May 27

The movies are not the only Star Wars stories George worked on.
George worked on Clone Wars

Yet The Clone Wars is supposed to be in the same continuity as the movies. And in that continuity the entire Jedi order... {checks notes} ...did not turn to the dark side.

(People writing elseworlds fanfic should of course feel free to bastardize the story any way they want.)

In your uneducated opinion.

The Clone Wars.... watch it and get a clue little fella.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm not going to state what I think about this discussion. But, just so you know.... When anyone, in any discussion, falls back to things like 'little fella'.... I already start taking you less serious. I'm not a mod, and if one of the mods feels like they need to comment on me stepping in here, please do and I'll delete this post.

But, let's keep it nice and civil everyone, ok?

Thanks Anakin.

We've known for a while that he's been interested, and both he, Disney, and Lucasfilm have known since Rogue One was announced as a thing that the audience wanted a Kenobi thing with Ewan McGregor in it. So this isn't a surprise that they've been working on it for a while now and not telling anyone.

Great! I honestly can't wait for this one. I hope it lives up to the hype. I mean, that's an easy thing for a Star Wars project to do. Right? Right?!? :p

I knew he probably knew about it longer than we did, but I didn't expect it to be that long.
I couldn't imagine how hard it must have been to stay quite about it for that long, with everybody constantly talking about wanting more of him as Obi-Wan.

Ewan was on Conan earlier, ostensibly to promote Doctor Sleep. But other than the obligatory clip from that film and maybe a one sentence description of his role in it, they spent the rest of the time talking about Obi-Wan. :techman:

“The situation is so complex both for [Obi-Wan] personally and in a way, the state of the galaxy, you sort of need time to explore it and to be honest there are loads of other stories within that period as well, it’s quite a few years. There is so much going on between [Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope] that hasn’t been explored. The idea of being able to go into a character journey plus the politics and plus all the vastness of the empire and what’s going on is exciting just because it feels like a proper period of history and sometimes that is hard to do in two hours. Sometimes with two-hour movies there is always an imperative for the action and the plot to move particularly fast and quickly and to go from action sequence to action sequence and there are many more aspects to storytelling that I find interesting.”
Holy cow. Looks like the scope is going to be much larger than most of us originally speculated.
