Nice to see Riker and Troi there....I'm guessing that Will wasn't captain of the Titan long (I bet 5 years) and he and Deanna resigned from starfleet to live a normal life on Earth. Seems like that Riker and Troi couldn't keep going on with Starfleet due still feeling down on the loss of Data and wasn't the same without him to keep going with their Starfleet career.

She was a lot closer to Icheb, it would make more sense (aside from a Chakotay flashback). Do any of the novels have Seven & Hugh meeting?
Only in a short story and a mention in an alternate timeline. Hugh died, and I believe the rest of them were Caeliared away.
The borg threads of Picard is very different to the Chaos caused by Mack and co in the Novelverse.
She was close to Icheb, but we only saw the first couple of years of that relationship. Seven has had 15 years back in the Alpha Quadrant, it could be anyone. (But not Chuckles -- too young)

I'm still going to say that the CGI from Enterprise, 20 years ago was better than Disco's.. Just more realistic.. Just seems that the new stuff went threw some cheap photoshop filter.. (Like filtering coffee thru a jockstrap) Ugh..
Seems that they are going to tackle alot of the bigger themes from TNG it STP.. We have the Borg, or whats left of them, we have the Romulans... or whats left of them, and we have androids.. or whats left... well there more of them..
with starfleet going down a dark turn it seems.. probably from all the wars they went threw wiht the Borg and Dominion.. changed things (Like ST Into darkness.. the more militant side looks to have gotten in charge)

They kind of implied that as far back as that one Voyager episode's ending (the title eludes me), when they showed an army of EMH-looking holos scrubbing plasma conduits and/or mining dilithium on some remote asteroid. They all appeared to be getting used as a kind of state-sanctioned slave labor, even though a case could be made for sentience.
The shot of Riker from behind, look at the far right, he seems to have a replicator slot.

That's fair..just felt a bit down thinking no matter what happens, there is that STD future (what ever that involves) at the end of it...
I'd bet that cooking raw replicated food tastes better than replicated cooked food. Or the replicator is like a microwave and everyone has one but the amount of use it gets varies from house to house.
Sorry, but that's utterly baseless speculation. If you can't continue with your career because of the death of a colleague, even one who was a cherished friend, you had no business ever being in Starfleet in the first place.
It was hardly the first time they ever would have experienced loss.
The efficacy of the replicator changed over time. In the first few seasons of TNG, it was meant to be a miracle invention that created perfect, delicious food 100% of the time. Note that a 20th Century human describes the replicator's martini as the "best" he's ever had. And he would never have had replicated food before.
Later, it was retconned so that basically everyone agrees that replicated food is subpar and that "real food" is much better. This running gag continues through the latter seasons of TNG and all through DS9 and Voyager.
That doesn't mean replicated food is better. It's just how the human brain works.
I mean, they've shown through double-blind taste tests that if you give people two glasses of wine, and tell them one is more expensive, they'll say that the more expensive one tastes better.
Why is that? One, the future is malleable, as demonstrated by a bunch of time travel stories. Two, is it reasonable to expect the Federation to endure perfectly for 1000 years? Political powers will struggle with difficulties, and not just wars or threats of war. They will struggle with things differing points of view, management of resources, and solving problems.
Perhaps I am more cynical but I am wondering if expecting this Federation to survive intact for 1000 years to be reasonable?
I always hoped that some day we would see a star trek home kitchen that had a holographic/replicator island where you could call up all the materials you needed for a recipe including the cooking surfaces, ingredients, and tools. A dream kitchen for the 21st century home cook.
Apparently that's too boring for Star Trek, even though I would be totally on board.
