News Brent Spiner Returned for "Picard" (and you could do the CGI better in 15 minutes, we get it)

Also his eyes are way to yellow. They no longer look as natural as the old contacts he wore. I'm surprised they can't get these easy details right.
Actually, Data's eyes never were quite consistent, in Season 1 of TNG that started out a certain way, as the show went on they became less vibrant in color, in First Contact they looked Orange, by Nemesis they looked similar to whats shown in Picard, the pupils actually look smaller on these, although not everything is due to colorgrading or being shot digitally, I have to wonder what might have hand an affect on the color, it could be seriously worse though

Geees, perhaps you may want to try and get over it.
IT IS A DREAM SEQUENCE.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
My Complaint is the hair, they dropped the ball in some way during production, and have to do digital work on his hair, resulting in another ball drop, the touchups on the face are fairly decent(when remembering this is a Show not a movie) but that damn hair

Again I say...
DREAM SEQUENCE

That damn hair may be exactly how Picard remembers it in his dream.
Doesn't have to be right, it just has to represent how Picard apparently remembers Data.

And the meme in another post around here with Riker is a perfect reflection of how a persons memories can unintentionally distort things.
(and is funny as all get out)

his hair looks fine compared to this picture

It's hard to come to a conclusion since we don't have much context to go on.
if you know anything about how post Production VFX work, then it's very clear whats up, the idea that it's intentionally in universe is BS, what there is to go on is Picard having a dream/ vision of Data from the Enterprise D days, there is no need for an uncalled for requested unnecessary noticeable change to Data's hair, the idea that it's intentional that he look different is just booboo. when watched the footage you can even see an unnatural blur over that front area of the hair, that hairline it'self isn't very sharp like it would normally be, yet down around his ears it's normal, this is a VFX issue, regardless of whats going on in the storyline, they would not but Data in here just to intentionally botch his hair and turn people off with it

How do you know the deaging is CG? Could just be a lot of makeup.
Because I've done enough Digital work to notice things that give it away, the same as when a makeup Artist can tell something is a makeup effect even when most people think it looks real. the Deaging, (the face and neck) are not deaged CGI, it's Digital Touchups, CGI would be an outright digital model created of his face, these are touchups, combination of makeup and touch ups, really thick makeup is not going to get rid of eye bags, although special tape can be used for a temporary facelift, it's still not going to fix everything, with these types of touchups, there is often a softness across the skin on the skin. There is a very basic touchup Process(that I do not like using) where you a sample taken of the pixels within an area of skin that you want to alter, in this case it becomes darker pixels where there is more depth because of the lines and creases in the skin, a piece of software that can sample, and apply a special filter that is combined of Blur and Diffusion, it applies it to all of the pixels that are like the sample, basically patches of blur and diffusion are applied to areas of the face, , patches show up unwanted in other pieces of the footage are Rotoscoped out , keeping the effect isolated to the skin. here is an example, I sharpened the image to make it clearer to see the differences between the untouched skin, and the skin where the affect has been applied, in this case, the red circles are areas of the untouched skin that were not affected, the red circles on the sides of the head show the untouched areas of hair(or hairpiece) the yellow circle around the top part of the hair shows when digital manipulation has been applied, that section lacks any 3 dimensional depth that is on real hair(or hairpiece) its flat a 2 dimensional.

Obviously, this trailer is just a trailer. Effects are not finished, as we've seen many times before.

Keep calm and stop freaking out, fer cryin' out loud. :techman:

I've already said it was a rush job for the trailer, that means it's not final, but even for the trailer, it's embarassing to have the hair looking like booboo, I'm more curious about why they are digitally manipulating the hair to begin with, because a full hairlace or even frontal hairlace for filming would be cheaper than having a VFX house do post production work to the hair
