Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths to be 5-Part Crossover

As a non-Arrowverse viewer (gave up a few years ago) I'm expecting to be bored beyond belief every minute that there isn't a guest star on screen. ;)
Strange as it may sound, I somehow doubt they'll be planning this 5 part crossover with an eye towards appealing to people that don't like the shows.

No, I'm sure you're right...the five-part mega-crossover featuring multiple headline-grabbing guest stars was probably planned without any consideration towards getting higher ratings than usual.

Welling and Durance are an obvious ratings grab. And I'm sure seeing Conroy live-action will pique a few peoples' interest.

To a degree, sure, but it's also kind of logical. Leaving aside my feelings about the looser approach to doppelgangers, it makes sense from a practical standpoint to tie into other superhero shows. The comic had the advantage that DC had already established multiple familiar parallel universes over the decades, but while the Arrowverse has several notable ones (e.g. Supergirl's world, Earth-2, Earth-3, Earth-X, Gypsy's world), I doubt it has as many as DC did in the '80s. So they could just make up more doppelgangers of the familiar cast as they've done in the past, but newly invented alternates wouldn't have the same recognition value, the same emotional hook for the audience, as familiar characters from earlier DC screen incarnations.

I'm just wondering what the Arrowverse Wiki is going to do about all this. They've repeatedly absorbed what used to be separate show wikis -- Supergirl, Constantine, now The Flash (1990). So are they now going to merge with the Smallville Wiki, the Birds of Prey Wiki, etc.? I think maybe it's better to keep those separate, limit the wiki to the "local" multiverse, or rather, to the shows that have repeated continuity links with the Arrowverse rather than just crossing once in CoIE. But we'll see what they do.

For my part, as I only watch Supergirl so, whenever there have been crossovers, I found the number of episodes that interested me in the other Arrowverse's series and I only watch these ones and only these ones. Problem fixed thanks to Netflix and friend of mine who is addicted to the DC's series! :techman:. It is indeed out of the question for me, to watch shows that do not interest me just to be able to follow a crossover.

About "Crisis on Infinite Earths", don't you think that too much people intervening in the story whether they are in the foreground or in the background, risk to make the said story go in all directions, in losing the original purpose : to bring us to the programmed death of Green Arrow's Oliver Quinn and a cards reshuffle in Arrowverse, with some points in direct relation with some heroes lives), as well as people's interest? And what is the point of seeing several supermen coming from different universes if they do not have the same face (same thing for their spouses). I mean, what is it to see them all will bring more to the story, if not to respond to a fans whim?

One thing seems to be sure, although the producer of this crossover, Marc Guggenheim, says to have the great desire to stick to the comic book, we already know that some elements will contradict the comic book as seeing as Supergirl and The Flash should survive this adventure at the price of Quinn's sacrifice, while in the comic book, both characters died of their wounds among others.

Umm...allegedly? Characters from different TIME PERIODS in addition to shows...sounds about right. So the Legends will be picking up Mia and heading to Barry?

Did they ever do a DC TV promo this year? The past ones have been lots of fun.

And Any Crisis comic covers yet?
I phrased it as allegedly because I didn't recognise the source. Basically I did an image search on Google for images from CW's COIE and that's one that came up. For all I knew it could just have been actors from the three shows hanging out together since they're presumably shot at the same studio, so I hedged my bets :).

I didn't watch the last event, but I'm imagining it's not so commonplace that people just walk up to each other and say, "Hello person from another universe, we need you to help out for five minutes but don't talk about yourself, okay?" If the guests amount to nothing more than walking costumes, I'll be tuning out quickly.
Then you'll probably be tuning out quickly. I'm pretty convinced at this point that most of the returning characters, besides Kingdom Come Superman, and Smallville Clark and Lois will just be cameos. I really can't see them giving that much screen time to someone like Birds of Prey Huntress.

Just like the Earth-2 Clark Kent in the Pre-Crisis multiverse—he was EIC of the Daily Star.

IIRC, the '40s Superman radio show had Clark acting as interim editor when Perry was elected mayor of Metropolis. Although after a while they just had Perry doing both jobs at once and blissfully ignored what a massive conflict of interest that was. (Ironic given that he was elected on an anti-corruption platform...)

We were all thinking it at some point when they announced him playing Superman

What if kingdom come Superman is just an older version of Superman from “Superman returns” ?

...Yeah, I think that's been the general assumption by most of us. ;)

Personally, I'm wondering if Kevin Conroy with be playing "THE" DCAU old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond, or just any old Bruce Wayne, or Kingdom Come old Bruce. Given the above, the latter sounds more likely, but the idea of a literal live action version of the 90's Animated Batman just seems way more fun. They could even have Rosenbaum show up as live action DCAU Wally West, so they have have him appear without having to shave the head or wear a baldcap as Lex. ;)
