It's not hate to want something new.I don't understand all the TNG hate.

If it is not new enough for you, go watch something else. 'Why are these Picard's old friends on this show about Picard?' is an inane complaint. This show is mainly aimed for people who liked TNG and love Picard. It's not hate to want something new.
Wow, dude. I express a desire and get slapped down for the trouble. I'm intrigued by Picard where he is at now, but I don't need the entire TNG crew showing up. I want to see what occurred with Romulus, and this mystery girl and the like. If that can organically include some of the TNG crew great. If it is not new enough for you, go watch something else. I actually really liked the Season 2 Discovery Klingons, I thought they did a good job of toning down the makeup to look more like they used to, but with enough Season 1 elements that they were still recognizable as those Klingons.I have a feeling they will update his makeup -- just like they updated Kor, Koloth, and Kang for DS9 "Blood Oath".
The general look between TNG-era Klingons and Discovery Season 2 Klingons is not so different that they couldn't update Worf and have him still look like Worf. The makeup change would be far less than the change made to Kor, Koloth, and Kang in DS9 versus their TOS look.
Here is Worf (from First Contact, I think) compared to Discovery Season 2 L'Rell:

It is, however, what was proposed as the premise of the show: “NOT the Picard you remember”. That premise was intriguing. It was my hope that, for the first season at least (given what Stewart and the producers were saying), TNG references, let alone guest appearances, would be at a minimum. Clearly that’s not what’s going to happen.Wow, dude. I express a desire and get slapped down for the trouble. However, from my point of view that's not what people are asking for.
That's a fine way of putting it. I feel a similar way and feel like they are walking back on what the proposed premise was stated to be.It is, however, what was proposed as the premise of the show: “NOT the Picard you remember”. Fine for those who want it but less interesting to me because of it.

That is my hope. I posted in another thread but I'll reiterate. If it makes sense to the story then I think it can work. However, randomly dropping them in because "TNG" is problematic to my view. It creates a very small universe syndrome, especially 20 years post TNG events.I don't think they're walking back on the proposed premise at all, but it would be silly for the show to ignore some TNG references and characters given how closely the show follows TNG. News of some TNG cast members returning is definitely...well, newsworthy, and certainly raises a lot of talk among fans, but I doubt this show will be "TNG Continues." The majority of the episodes aren't likely going to feature any TNG characters.
I'm thinking Season 1 is going to be the most closely tied to TNG, they're going to have to spend a fair amount of time establishing what's been going on since Nemesis. I've noticed with a lot of these kinds of spin offs and sequel shows, the first seasons tend to be the most closesly tied to the original show. They have establish it's relationship to original, and they also use those ties back to the original show as a way to draw it's viewers over. Once everything has been established and people have gotten to know the new characters, then they start to split off a bit more.It is, however, what was proposed as the premise of the show: “NOT the Picard you remember”. Is this confirmed or just a guess on your part?Hugh is the one that feels most like a cameo. Out of all the Borg cubes the Romulans could have found, Hugh just happened to be on that specific one.
All that's been confirmed is that we'll see him on a Cube (this comes from the Actor), so yeah half of that is speculation on my part.Is this confirmed or just a guess on your part?
And I truly hope they follow through on that statement. But, I'm not holding my breath either. They've said they'll only bring back old characters if it makes sense for the story.

I haven’t said I won’t watch it. I’m merely less enticed by it every time a new TNG-era character appearance is announced.Don't you think you're jumping the gun a little. Maybe actually wait to see the show. So far, we have a couple of confirmed cameos. That's it.
Clearly, everything about the premise and story of the series as shown in the trailers is wildly different from a "TNG 2.0" kind of concept.
I think he'll look close to Nemesis Worf. Maaaaaybe with a few hints of Disco Klingons, like the fingers/nails or some neck ribbing.
The thing is, I'm not sure Michael Dorn resembles Worf enough anymore. Even though his muscles were always in the suit (hence Sleeveless Worf only ever happening in comics), he's skinny as a rake now. Here he was in Ted 2:

It's why he should wear thick Klingon robes.
And if they follow through on this premise, that's awesome! But, what I'm reading is the constant desire to insert all of the TNG crew in some way, shape, matter or form. Yes, I understand that these people are an important part of Picard's past. That doesn't mean everyone needs to show up, in my view.Clearly, everything about the premise and story of the series as shown in the trailers is wildly different from a "TNG 2.0" kind of concept.
