This actually happened yesterday, but:

I took my nephews to a Giants game at Oracle Park.

We had a lot of fun - I consider this the highlight of my vacation in SF.

My only regret is that I couldn’t come out there when one of my teams (Yankees, Mets) was in town, but that’s just a minor thing.

The point is that I love baseball more than pretty much anything else on Earth, and was super stoked to get to share that with my nephews (who are British and are mainly Liverpool FC fans).

I found everything I needed at one store today instead of having to drive all over kingdom come for one or two ingredients. Sometimes I miss Savannah. They had way better stores.

I remembered the password to my paypal account. Thankfully I didn't have to go through the awkward two step verification process. The aim was to update my credit card details but it had already been done.

Now I can buy an old graphic novel off Ebay that I haven't read in years.

Two separate old friends I haven't spoken to in a long time (attrition drift, nothing negative between us) contacted me this week, prompting me to contact a third. I am now back in touch with three people I really enjoy talking to.

Hubby has an unplanned day off since the University closed due to the floods yesterday. He made blueberry biscuits this morning and we watched some Netflix together.

btw, might I have the recipe, please? I love blueberries and over here we only make cake from them (very simple: spread shortbread dough thinly on a baking sheet or spring-form, mforming a rim around the edges, cover the dough with a finger-thick layer of fresh blueberries and bake; sugar to taste. Most people use yeast dough instead; you can also use a simple soft batter into which the berries will sink). I've never heard of blueberry bisquits but the sound of the word alone is mouthwatering

I have been super duper busy lately. I decided a while ago that I wanted to make a go of my creativity and make it pay. It’s a long slog, but I’m writing enough now to consider myself a writer, and when not being creative I’m having quality time with the family. It’s exhausting. But good :-)

Today is one of my short shifts. I'm super glad, because I had so much fun in New Orleans I'd like to hang onto that feeling a little longer before having to succumb to whatever new fresh hell drama got stirred over the weekend by my problem co-workers.

It is pouring rain, but I have a cat to cuddle with a blanket to wrap up in and a pillow for my head and a comfy couch. I also have from the library the two best movies for a day like this. Infinity War and End Game!! Get to watch them back to back how cool is that!!

Maaan, was it a good thing that I clung to that New Orleans feeling like a wet limpet on a dry rock. That shift ended in tears, not mine.

As for today's goodness, a food I was initially reactive to, I am not now. My gut feels like it is healing, and kale is back on the menu!
