Surely something good happened to you today

Had a small, pre birthday celebration at my sister's house. (My birthday clashes with her moving day tomorrow.) I ate some Thai chicken stir fry with cashew nuts, watched the WoW episode of South Park, received a Mad Max Fury Road Funko Pop, and won a bit of cash on a lottery scratch card.

Happy Birthday.

Recently I mentioned some health issues for my grandma. She's now passed away, but the funeral was an absolutely wonderful celebration for a dynamic woman who lived out more than 100 years of love, humility and strength. A rare gem indeed! I'm grateful for having had her in my life.

Happy Birthday Dude (or Dudette)

I ate an apple and it stayed down =)
LOL yes, sounds trivial but I've been sick ever since Friday evening. Seems I caught a few EHEC bacteria.
Bonus: I lost 6 lbs. YAY! (But since I have a business meeting in Nuremberg tomorrow and there's this terrible chocolate factory outlet midway, directly next to the Autobahn, I expect those 6 to be back by next week and to bring reinforcements..)

what colour is it? I rescued one from the compost heap a few weeks ago and it turned out to be a very intense textmarker-red that changes into a deep velvety raspberry-red. I was rather surprised since I had previousely known only the traditional variety that changes from yellow to pink and a yellow/white variety.
Nights here are getting cold (4-6°C) so I brought mine indoors on Monday.

The flowers are yellow and white. I thought I was buying an all-yellow one, because I could only see a few yellow ones. In full bloom, the white flowers are in the middle and the yellow ones are on the outer part of the circle. I would have preferred all yellow, but it's still nice. I've had this plant for years; I'm surprised I've managed to keep it alive this long.
