Wow, I'm surprised a brother has never pitched to a brother before. That was fun to watch. :D

Stick a fork in the Cubs, they're done.

Edit: The Red Sox fired Dombrowski less than a year after winning a World Series? What in the everloving fuck? There had to be something going on behind the scenes, like he took a liquid shit in John Henry's Cheerios or something. If the starting rotation outside of Rodriguez hadn't shit the entire bed, the bullpen would've been fine. The Red Sox as an organization bet big on starters, it backfired spectacularly, and what, Dombrowski is the fall guy?

I suppose I should have known this was coming when Shaughnessy did his hit piece article a month or so ago saying that Dombrowski had isolated himself in the front office and the only person he was talking to was Tony La Russa.

    Probably.

The entire...ENTIRE coaching staff needs to go this offseason, not just the hitting & pitching coaches. Regardless of Epstein's many overpriced busts, the lineup has too much potential to be this bad. 2017, they squeaked into the NLDS. 2018, they squeaked into a tie and lost that and the WC game. This year, they're **this** close to not even making the WC game.

I think they've simply stopped listening to Maddon and whoever he has as coaches at any given time. They're adults that shouldn't need to be motivated, but someone really does need to motivate them and use them the right way.

Maddon's oddball crap worked the first couple years because it was different, but players need way more regimentation than they'll get from Maddon.

The Cubs were forced to call up the first 2018 pick to the bigs, and Nico Hoerner had a pretty nice debut. 3/5 with 4 RBI and some nice plays at SS.

It's pretty damning of the Cubs' farm system that their #1 prospect is a kid from AA playing SS despite the fact that he's a 2B / OF, and who had his wrist broken earlier this year by a HBP and has subsequently slugged ~.300 in the minors as a result.

We gave up the farm for a WS. Most teams would do the same and not even win it all. Still a lot of changes need to happen if we're going to get anything out of these guys next year.

Here's hoping Hoerner continues to perform well and completely replaces Russell.

The Astros have won their last two games by a combined score of 36-1.

All may now bow down to the Astros. :p

Well, you can't say there's not a lot of runs scored in Astro games. So far the Athletics have a 17-2 lead in the 4th.

Wow. I just looked at the box score. Every single A's starter had multiple hits, scored at least once, and drove in at least one run.

...and it's only in the sixth inning.

The Mets have been pretty hot as of late. Only two games out of the second wildcard spot. It should be an interesting run to the end of the season.

Admittedly against the fucking Pirates, but the Cubs scored 47 runs in this weekend's series. Now 2 back of the Cards and 1 ahead of the Brewers for the WC.

Trout, Javy Baez, Yelich, Ohtani and now most likely Rizzo are all out for the rest of the season. Please amend the CBA to allow players to augment themselves with cybernetics, thanks in advance.

Edit: I'll bet cash money that Trout going down to the IL guarantees Bregman winning AL MVP.

Hoping Rizzo's injury looked worse than it is. No break, and we'll find out today how bad the sprain is. As good as Happ is defensively at first, we need Rizzo's hitting.

Pirates closer Felipe "The Nightmare" Vazquez lives up to his nickname, in the worst way possible.

The Astros are the first team to reach 100 wins this season. And also that makes it three 100 win seasons in a row.
