I'm surprised Lane is doing the storyboards himself, you'd think with all of the money he's spending on this he'd get himself a pro storyboard artist.
I can't remember, is he doing the script himself or did he get a writer?

We wrapped principal photography for our little short in April...still a ways to go in post. These things take time, especially with a small team, in our case, a team of 2.
Is there a page or link to your project, I might enjoy following it's progress.

A pro would cost more... why spend the money?
In all honesty, story boards don't have to be great works of art, they just have to be clear to the principals involved. And it's a small group of people. It's not a big production with hundreds of people involved.
Seems smart to me to save the money and NOT hire a pro storyboard artist.

Oh, I understand, I was just be sarcastic because they seem to be spending a lot of money on a lot of unnecessary stuff.

We do not have an online presence yet for it. Since it's all self funded (no answering to donors) we haven't been too keen on sharing much until we were sure it didn't outright suck! :-)

It's not Trek related, but sci-fi. Set in the near future a lone astronaut on a military space station witnesses total nuclear war below and may be one of, if not the last human alive. It's his journey to try to survive as long as possible and hope someone is out there. Much of the narrative is driven by his radio transmissions to Earth, hopeful of a reply. Very little CG, tons of physical sets and kitbashing for the few models. It's been mostly for fun.

Sorry for the OT.

It's all good. After the Axanar deception I'm ready for something other than fan trek myself.
Best of luck with your project.

Sounds like a solid concept. Wishing you lots of luck as you continue working on it!

Update on Interlude scheduling. If I am reading this right, although filming takes place in November it could be second-quarter 2020 before film is released.

I'll believe it when I see it. Maybe.

If he's only a few hundred short of the goal, he could at least cast the thing. One might have thought he'd have that done already. You know, for measuring and sizing costumes and boots and whatever else "must" be custom made. And sending out copies of the script for cast preparation. And for the director(s) to start planning and storyboarding and whatever else directors do. Because it's not like they're being paid, right?

There is a lot of work that could have already been done by now.

Unless I'm very much mistaken.

There you go, backseat producing. You know he doesn't like that. You may incur Axanar II: The Wrath of Slow Lane.

Didn't he already hint at some potential roadblocks down the line? I'm assuming all of that was a set up to give them an excuse for why it inevitably gets delayed, and delayed, and delayed......

I think Lane wants to make his movie and likely will as long as LFIM doesn't sabotage the effort by being a ... well... by being himself and trying to take control of the project because he knows better. Nah... he would never do such a thing

I took 25 minutes to watch Prelude for the first time since it was released... I really enjoyed it, mostly for the performances by the "S-F" actors they got to do it. They're all damned great in it. I agree that the script is "a whole lot of nothing" as Maurice had put it. But if they were to finish this as another 20 minute documentary, it would be pretty entertaining to me. Sadly, Richard Hatch is gone so either recasting or an narrative explanation for Karn's disappearance would be in order. It was good work on Hatch's part, though.

I have no dog in the race, honestly, I gave no money and never had my projects scuttled by anyone (cuz I didn't make any). But it is a nice piece of work in regards to the performances and technical side.
