Meanwhile, concerning the whole "Independent trek film" nonsense, here's a video from one of my subscribed channels explaining trademark in an easy to follow way:

Summary: LFIM is begging for it, bent over with his pants down.

EXCELLENT!! Too bad they didn't mention Disney in all that because Mr. Mouse uses Trademarks extensively to the point of getting a bad name for defending their marks.

Is there a similar video explaining patents and/or copyrights???

There are several, actually, all based on instances of law being practiced in TV and movies (which is the main thrust of his channel). This one might be closest to what you want to see. It's about twenty minutes:

Pretty good and on point... except for the point where he accidentally says "copyright" when he means trademark whilst attempting to explain the difference. LOL

I wonder if being involved with Axanar will have any effect on the careers of the actors and other people involved? I think we can safely say they will probably not work on any official Star Trek productions ever again after this, and possibly just CBS in general. I'm not sure if it would really be a big enough deal to effect things outside of Trek, but it did even make the non-geek news, so there's a chance even non-Trekkie would be aware of the controversy surrounding it.

So, does it cost money to see the weekend's live stream?

I mean, there could be comedy gold there, and I'd hate to miss it. :techman:

JG and Gary have not been in demand for a while........Kate has been working steady as has Tony Todd. It may just be coincidence that the two vocal supporters seem to have less work.........

Edit: Kate was on NCIS a couple of years ago......but she's also not really commented on Axanar AFAIK

Alec seems pretty certain this time. Might he actually film something?

Filming in October? I'll believe it when I see proof and not posturing on Lane's blog or Alec's YouBoob.

October great! It's been a while since I have seen a Super 8 film! I hope Alec puts the film splicer to good use this time. Also i hope this time he uses the thin fish line to hold up the ships, not the white string. Lessons learned, I guess. ;)
