Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

We were all...young once, but memories persevere...if not always our original "Revolutionary intentions"

Life has the nasty habit of getting in the way.

That's how they may look in the 2040s but they're not there yet.

The Woodstock lineup is one of the most legendary in history. The hottest and most diverse collection of bands of 1969 gathered here and created a playlist that would forever shape music to come. The American music scene of the era was defined by this music festival, and what is now known as world music stemmed from the diversity of performers that played at Woodstock. That's interesting.

I know that expression but I still don't get what acting one's shoe size mean. Does it even mean anything?

It just means you are acting immature, or like a child. Basically that you are acting like the age that corresponds to the number value of your shoe size.

Granted, I don't know how shoe sizes work in France, so that may be throwing you off, but typically here the approximate average shoe size is about an 8.5 for women, and 10.5 for men.

I see. Thanks for the explanation. My shoe size in French units is actually 46 and I am 59 so it wouldn't actually be a slight. To most people, your say would mean acting older than their age.:D

An old friend reached out to me on social media at the end of last month. There was no awkward hi or how are you message. You'd think that would be a priority since it'd been, roughly ten years, that we'd last spoken to each other?

I said that it'd been a long time but would be good to reconnect. They said that it would be good to reconnect too. Aside from the occasional liked post, they made no real effort to message back and forth.

My intuition told me to hold back. I'd set a healthy boundary and got on with my life. There's no harm in taking things slow but the timing felt odd. Basically, they'd reached out two weeks before having an operation. They also boasted about how 'awesome' the new skinny version of themselves would be. I got the impression that they wanted to show off.

Then, their post op feed turned into a daily pity party. I don't want to sound jealous or insincere. They sounded pretty insecure and overshared a lot of details. I don't know why they reached out. Maybe they felt nostalgic? Maybe they felt sad? Maybe they wanted my sympathy? Maybe they wanted to show off?

Last night, I moved on from them. They seemed to take pride in not growing up. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I realised that I was more grounded than them. I didn't want to deal with the constant drama/attention seeking and feeling left out in the cold.

I had a really good day out on Thursday though and I'm still thinking about it. I saw Rose McGowan's 'Planet 9' show. Maybe it helped me to gain some clarity on the situation, some self worth, and to call a spade a spade.

Coffee never tastes exactly the same. You can use the same brand, the same amount of coffee and water, drink it at the same time of the day, it will still taste differently each time! Odd!

I have said this for years, and people act like I'm nuts. Glad to see that at least one other person on the planet experiences coffee like this, too.
