I like white fish, not keen on smoked or oily fish, don't like mussels, clams etc
    Not too bad on prawns
The lobster experience was a let down

Mixed nuts are most frustrating. Just give me the peanuts and cashews.

You can usually buy just peanuts and just cashews separately, though. I thought people mostly bought the mixed variety for the not-peanuts.

There is some similarity between the tastes of prawns and that of a lobster, kinda like with cauliflower and broccoli. So it's rather rare to hate one and like the other. Maybe it was the cooking.

I had a lobster at a restaurant a few years ago that was a real turn off. I separated the tail from the rest of the body and a pint of water poured out of it and all over the side dishes. I made them bring me a steak.

That's not what's supposed to happen. I'd avoid that restaurant like the plague if I were you.

They are much fatter than other nuts and therefore have a different structure, a bit like very fat chocolate. Their taste is similar to cashews but less intense. Imagine frozen whipped cream with cashews that's not cold - that's the closest comparism I can think of.
Frustrating fact: over here, they are very expensive and difficult to get, plus: on the way from Australia (I understand that's where they grow) they don't get stored under ideal conditions. Hence, when you finally make up your mind to buy some, you can bet on them being rancid. At least that's what happened to me the 2 times I bought some :(. Not rancid they are rather tasty but imo the secret of their fascination is the unusual bite.

I tried lobster once but as it tastes almost exactly like prawns I stick with the latter - less expensive and just as good.
Bad luck with yours, Gary :( It must have been injured or if they used a frozen one the shell must have been cracked, else it'd have been impossible for so much water getting in.

As a (slightly frustrating) general rule in life things that get praised a lot can never live up to their reputation. Whether it's the beauty of a woman or the taste of a dish, our imagination is always running away with us so that at the finish it's usually a few steps ahead of reality.

The thing with lobster is that you can't eat it without a bib, same thing with the big crabs and other large crustaceans. Whenever you crack these carapaces, you risk a projection in a random direction. Don't walk by a table of people eating lobster if you're wearing your best attire!

I love lobster especially since it is a medium to transfer butter into my mouth. Yum. :techman:

this is the worst my Amazon was broken into this morning while I was sleep at 4am
changed my passwords across the board.. like google mail and all... I used the suggested pass word that chrome suggested.. then my phone would not take that "copy pasted" pass word so I changed the google pass word to the exact copy pasted password that it would not accept --- it then accepted the password but my desk top would not take that password.. get this ... so I changed it to the exact copy pasted passwork that it would not accept .. everything works fine just ,,,mmmm yeah Frustrating

They say "Good things come in small packages." well, not this time. I found in my mailbox a thick envelope that contained some plastic crap that I didn't order. Turns out it was a mistake! The address was wrong! It's a good thing the post office is not far from here. I just went there on foot, put the thing on the counter and told the guy to deal with it. I wasn't going to wait in line to return something that was mistakenly put in my mailbox! Are you kidding? So I left a bit vexed by the reaction of some people. I am not inviting these to a BBQ, anytime soon for sure!

Sorry, think, that sounds awful. :( Hopefully everything got straightened out with no lasting damage done.

To the noob at work today who asked over 20 questions in less than 6 hours and needed two separate phone calls and then just had to say, "I hope I get assigned to you again tomorrow!"

I accidentally left a pen in my favorite pair of grey jeans while washing them. Three big nasty spots. I am currently waiting to see if the THIRD application of rubbing alcohol and OxyClean will be enough to get the stains out. The biggest spot (size of my fingernail), I kept rinsing with alcohol and swabbing with paper towels and the ink just kept coming and coming but the spot didn't seem to fade at all.
