She was already Admiral Janeway in Star Trek Nemesis, which Picard describes as "almost 20 years ago" in the trailer. Maybe she's retired.

The only reason I could see bringing Janeway back for this show would be to get some Borg secrets or something. She could be retired. She'll still be full of regret. I dunno. Maybe just a cameo.

Maybe Tom will come visit her in his old cell and offer her a way out.

Not so much a cell as a South Pacific paradise.

Well, it seems to me that the logic would like that yes as seeing as 1) Janeway whas been made Admiral shortly after her return on Earth and 2) ST: Picard is supposed to happen after something like 10-15 years after Voyager's adventures in DQ or something like that.

    I did see it.

I was a little excited in the run up, but within an episode or two, I found it not to be what I had hoped for. Worse than that, I found it to be almost antiethical to what I had hoped for. (Around the time a starfleet officer booby trapped a dead body)
This one I feel more excited for.
And it’s got stuff coming back.

I don't know. She could come as her twin sister, her transporter clone, her mirror universe alter ego, an android made to look like her... The possibilities are endless...

Really? I thought that was hilarious coming after the Klingon asshole rammed the admiral's ship after agreeing to a cease-fire. That guy really needed a taste of his own medicine.

    Sure, in another franchise.
But it didn’t suit Star Trek.
It’s not even like it was some futuristic if shady thing...starfleet officers literally conspired to commit a war crime.
It’s taken a long time to basically forget that and put down as first season stupidity. DSC improved in some regards for me. It’s biggest problem for me now is that it’s pace is slow,, and it’s a bit boring, and I have read the novels they are cribbing.

That not Janeway. That is one of Janeway's ancestors from the 21st century.

Didn't they already do that in Deep Space Nine with attempted genocide on the Founders? And Star Trek Into Darkness with an attempt to start a war on the Klingons?

Ryan: Return to Seven was Terrifying

I am rather impressed by her forthrightness. I've always thought she was a great actress. She clearly has put a lot of thought into the return of the Seven character.
