Since Canadians don't have access to the extra material not in the actual episode, what do they do that's awful? (serious question; I don't like either of them)

Generally, this season has a race problem. Of the first 5 people evicted, 4 were people of color (leaving 1 in the house), and the 5th has been on the block, she just wasn't evicted. Of the 4 people Jackson/Michie "banished" the first week, 3 of the 4 were people of color, the 4th was the older overweight man. When Jack was HOH, 2 people of color were nominated. Jack has been warned by production to be careful of what he says, because he used VERY misogynistic and violent language toward Kemi (Talking about Kemi, Jack told another houseguest, “It’s like, bitch you’re fucking going up and you can play for your veto, but I’m gonna fuck you up. God, dude, she gets me so hyped! I fuckin’ hate…”, “Fuckin’ Kemi makes me want to stomp a fucking mud hole though her chest,” and referring to Jessica as "Consuela").

Holy crap. They should pull people from the game for that. Allowing people like that to stay is deliberately putting the targeted people in an unsafe environment.

But then they didn't pull Evil Dick from the house even after he burned one of the women with a cigarette, so apparently even assault is okay with the producers.

I thought they did remove Dick for that.

One thing from Jack they did show is that condescending speech to Kemi about keeping her water bottle on the fridge.

He could have just said “Hey Kemi, mind not keeping your bottle in the fridge? It takes up a lot of space”. Instead he talks to her like a child.

Hopefully Christie doesn’t eff up this week with her diamond veto and we get one of these two out.

Not only did they not do that, he and his bitch of a daughter, Danielle, ended up as the final 2 (I don't remember which of them won; he took it for granted that if she won she would share the $500k with him).

Just goes to show that they will keep anyone in that game for the "entertainment", no matter how abusively they behave. Although I guess they'd probably turf someone if they kill or rape another guest...

I never liked Kemi, but I thought that was over the top weird. It seemed to come out of nowhere.

She's the one who starts crying when she has to make a decision, right?

He won his first appearance. He was removed the second time and that’s when he burned a girl with cigarettes.

    Well....
Jess won Veto and didn't use it, so one of them will definitely be going home tomorrow and I couldn't be happier. When I looked yesterday, it was going to be Jack.

Actually, his second time, he was not removed from the game but chose to leave because of upsetting personal medical news that he received in the first week. He burned Jen with a cigarette in his first appearance.

If they removed people who talked like this every season, there'd be practically no one left in the house. Not saying it's right, but unfortunately it's extremely common. It's part of the social experiment of Big Brother. There's a lot of downtime in the house, and much of it is spent just laying around talking. Those in power tend to focus their conversations on their dislike of those not in power. Some people make it really nasty and personal. It's human nature and I can't think of a single season where this hasn't been a regular occurrence.

Talking like that shouldn’t get you evicted but it shouldn’t be covered up in the broadcast.

I didn’t realize he did it in his first season, he definitely should have been removed for that.

The ejections I can remember, a guy in season 2 who jokingly held a knife to someone’s throat, a guy in season 4 who was throwing chairs because he couldn’t handle being with his ex, Willie Hantz, and that woman who destroyed her mic.

The entire Hantz family is psycho (they couldn't handle Survivor either).

And I would bet that the reason Evil Dick wasn't removed after he assaulted Jen with the cigarette is because this whole bizarre dynamic of him and his estranged daughter against the house was making people tune in to see what happened next. Both of them were vile people, but at least she just whined incessantly, rather than assaulting people.

As I recall, Jen was a 'have-not' that week and restricted in her food (I don't remember if that was pre-slop or if it was when they put the have-nots on PB&J), and decided to hell with it, she was having real food. Production ordered her to stop, but she cooked and ate a turkey burger. At that point I'm not sure if she planned to quit or expected to be removed, but I understand why she did it (she was another person I didn't like much, but that batch of people didn't include very many who were likable).

And it is bizarre, some of the details I remember about this show. :wtf:

I think the quality of this season has improved greatly in the last 2-3 weeks since the six shooters broke up and Jack left. Jackson is a jerk but a smart player so he’s a little more fun to watch.

Currently rooting for Tommy and Cliff.

Worth noting Tommy and Holly are the only ones who have never been nominated.

I like Cliff, and would love it if he won. He probably won't, since the final competition usually features some horrendous endurance challenge that favors young, athletic people.

Of the women, the only one I wouldn't have a problem winning is Nicole. I can't stand the others.

I like Nicole but wouldn't want her to win as she's been a non-entity in the game. I don't like Jackson but at least he's playing the game. Same with Christie, I respect the way she saved her butt yesterday. I'd rather the winner be an active entity in the game than someone likable.

Usually the final competition has an endurance competition for round 1, but then round 2 is a memory contest and round 3 is a 'How well do you know the jury members' contest.

I'm guessing Zingbot is this week? Usually shows up at 8 and it's also 'Prank week'.

I'm going to have to rewatch this week's episode. I was busy with stuff on the computer and during the voting, of course that's when my takeout arrived... thank goodness I recorded the episode.

I am getting utterly fed up with the bulk of the interview with Julie taking place in a format I can't access. All this "go to this website/this channel for the rest of the interview/to see more" that isn't available in Canada is just going to drive away Canadian viewers. Why should we bother, if we're only getting half or less of what the American viewers have access to?

I did see that the extended interviews are on YouTube, so it may be worth searching there to see if they're available to you to watch.

So the season didn't start the best, but I'm liking it a lot more now. It seems like things are pretty fluid and changing week to week. After the big alliance was split up, there aren't really any other solid alliances in the house. Just pairs or loose groups that form for a week or two at a time. At this point I feel that it's anyone's game. I would personally like to see Cliff win, but honestly I'd be okay with any of them winning, except for Jess (because she's done so little) and Nick.

I was surprised to see Nick win America's Prankster, but I think that's less to do with people liking him and more to do with people disliking Christie, and wanting him to nominate her. Christie annoyed me at first, but I've come around on her in the past few weeks. She's a smart player and the crying doesn't bother me. I think she's doing a great job. Nick, on the other hand, grosses me out and the more I see of him, the less I like him. On the feeds he is constantly talking explicitly about his sex life, making crude jokes, and making some of the women uncomfortable. He has been trying to cuddle up with everyone since Bella left. He wanted to keep Analyse around basically because he was attracted to her. I will be happy to see Nick go this week, if he is indeed voted out.

I was not a fan of Analyse either. Very boring, did nothing, but still expected to get to the end just because. Jack was one of my least favorites as well. So, it's been good to see the ones I don't like leaving the house.

My problem this season is I don't have anyone I'm really rooting for, except for maybe Cliff. I like Tommy, but he doesn't seem to be playing very much, he's just kinda there. Cliff is playing his heart out, but I don't seem him making it to the end.

Cliff has made it a lot farther than most older players ever have. I can't actually remember a season when anyone over 40, never mind whatever Cliff's age is, made it far enough to get to the jury.

When Dan won an old guy came in 3rd. Also in season 4 Jack came in 6th.

I think Tommy’s playing a great game. Never nominated, HoH wins, friends with everyone.

I think it's telling that when the evicted people are asked by Julie who's playing the best game, they don't immediately think of Tommy. But then she asks them who they WANT to win, and they all love Tommy. Everyone thinks he's just so great and will be on their side, and they aren't seeing that everyone else in the house also feels that way. It's also funny how Tommy's goodbye messages are sad and weepy, because he just loves the person SO MUCH and is SO SAD to see them go...and the evicted people just eat it all up! They don't see through it at all.
