I'm pretty sure i've been gone for about a year, but I have still been making my way chronologically through the Litverse. I'm in 2296 an just finished Vulcan's Forge.
With the release of the Picard trailer, it fired up my interest to jump back to the Post-Nemesis books. I just finished Death in Winter, now I'm on Titan: Taking Wing. Really enjoying it so far. Havent read it since it first released in 2005.
I was still in comic book mood after finished up the second Star Wars: Poe Dameron collection, so I started Demon Knights Vol. 1: Seven Against The Dark, written by Paul Cornell, with art by Diogenes Neves.
The latest Literary Treks episode dropped yesterday: Literary Treks 275: Q is a YouTube Comment Troll, in which Bruce and I discuss TNG: Q & A by Keith R.A. DeCandido. Currently reading Star Trek #54: A Flag Full of Stars by Brad Ferguson as I eagerly await DSC: The Enterprise War in the mail!

Just posted my review of Titan: Orion's Hounds by Christopher L. Bennett. Big fan of this novel, one of my favourites of the past two decades (?!?) of Trek Lit.
Last night I finished up Demon Knights Vol. 1: Seven Against the Dark, and started The Star Wars, the comic book adaptation of George Lucas's rough draft version of the first Star Wars movie. It's written by JW Rinzler, with art by Mike Mayhew.
I just started TNG: Diplomatic Implausibility by KRAD. Actually kind fortuitous as I plan on reading the Gorkon series soon and this book I discovered actually introduces Captain Klag and the Gorkon (I hadn't realized it when I grabbed this book to read next). I haven't read a book by KRAD in a while so I'm looking forward to this one as I always enjoyed his novels.
One thing I struggle with is finding any sort of good recommendation based on a Star Trek book. On Amazon, it seems like people who buy one Star Trek book are only buying other Star Trek books because that's almost all that shows up in the sections for other customer buys and views. I used The Eugenics Wars Vol. 1 as an example, and the only non-Trek choice I saw was Greg Cox's Court of Owls novel. On Novelist, the other choices were derived from books that are compelling, plot-driven, and feature genetic engineering. I can see why the book was tagged like that, but the genetic engineering was not the main draw of that duology. Is there a great non-Trek recommendation thread, resource, or community that anyone knows about? If not, would it be useful to have a thread where we say what Trek books we love most and why, and other people recommend some non-Trek books with similar attributes? Thread duty: I'm reading Star Wars: Thrawn: Treason by Timothy Zahn.
I've beem reading Jane Austen mysteries Jane and the ghosts of Netley and Jane and the Canterbury tale by Stephanie Barron.
Latest Literary Treks episode is up, and this one was a lot of fun: Literary Treks 276: There's a Line We Can't Cross, in which Bruce and I talk to authors David R. George III and Dayton Ward about their experiences writing Star Trek novels: the process, how it differs from writing original fiction, what it's like working with CBS, etc. It was a fun interview and nice to do something a little different from what we usually cover on the show!

I've been meaning to check out Literary Treks, and it sounds like this might be a good one to start with. Last night I finished up The Star Wars, and once that was done I started ST: TNG: Hearts and Minds by @ Dayton Ward. I thought The Star Wars was OK, it was interesting seeing where the Star Wars we know today started out.
