If you think this alt-right dumbass is triggered now, just wait until he figures out that Star Trek: Picard is about Trump putting immigrants and refugees in concentration camps.

Yikes. I'm sure this isn't the first we've seen of this guy nor will it be the last.

Can we not drag politics in to the comparison of Star Trek? I know I'm one of the few right leaning people around these parts, but good grief does it escalate quickly. It's discouraging that there can't be actual conversation. :sigh:

While that's fair, this was going to decline well before politics were brought into the equation.

    Okay. Fair enough.

In the meantime, I echo Spider's sentiments: Clean up on Aisle 4! Aisle 3 too.

Nah, they'll just IP ban his ass.

I'm pretty sure this entire thread will be deleted soon, as it's full of pornographic stuff that the idiot was posting.

Eh. On one hand, it's not sending up the same red flags STD did. Yet. On the other hand, I've seen STD, I know how bad it is, and this one is being made by the same people, which makes me less willing to give it any benefit of the doubt.

Overall, I remain convinced that the Star Trek franchise is past its expiration date and it's time for it to stop.

They only really works if they have a static IP, and they could also use a VPN.

The teaser has grown on me more with each viewing. I have nitpicks but other pieces came together via the last viewing (and visual detail I hadn't noticed before) and I'm getting hyped. Still cautious but not in as much a bad way anymore...

I voted 8, am hoping the actual show improves on what seem to be some interesting ideas afoot. They might have a winner with Chabon, didn't he authorize a bunch of reshoots as well?

The best time to be a fan was still 1994 with 2 shows on the air, a movie coming out, another in development, Trek was everywhere and not locked up in a tiny pay-per-view outlet... But to those fans who like the newer episodes and not the old, no matter how much the formula changes, I won't disrespect those fans the way fans who liked 90s Trek spinoffs and Classic WHO (esp. the 80s decade) had been incessantly personally attacked and there's nothing to be embarrassed by regarding both factions for both shows, or any other. It's still just a show, a piece of entertainment people enjoy for whatever they see in it, fiction that makes and preferably keeps its own rules and viewers can like or dislike what they want from it.

It could be salvaged if The Old Mixer or an Admin deleted (or at least edited) those posts.
