TNG's a bastardisation of TOS. There, I said it. Change my mind. /s
Isn't it obvious? OP is looking for a certain reaction.

I’m looking forward to both, equally, especially now we know about the other returning characters. I hope that there is some overlap in the stories.

Does that awesome time include nonsensical plot points about magic mushroom technology that spins Star Fleet ships into warp speed? And plagiarized scripts? And purple Klingons?

I'm not sure how they could do that.

No one's strapping you down Clockwork Orange style to force you to watch Discovery. If you don't like it, watch something else Trek-related that you do like. I don't force myself to watch the Roddenbery/Hurley years of Next Gen outside of the five good episodes. I know what I like, and I watch it accordingly. Relax and do the same. Your nerd rage-related stress levels will plummet.

Based on what little I've seen, it's enough for me to get CBSAA, which I wouldn't just for DIS.

^Agreed. I watched the first few eps of CBSAA on free trial, then promptly cancelled once I realized what a monstrosity of a show Moonvez created

You're not going to last long here if you keep talking like this about any show.

Not a direct crossover, but events in Discovery could impact on the Federation in Picard.

Technically not impossible. The Civil War is still relevant 150 years later, unfortunately. But I'd bet against it.

Heaven forbid someone should actually NOT LIKE a particular ST series! You must love all the ST shows EQUALLY! If you don't, you're rude!

On Topic: Was just really excited Star Trek was coming back in general during the DSC announcement. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but it was Star Trek, and that was a big ass deal. Now that ST is back and...feels like it is safe from being cancelled randomly, I am stoked about PIC, for sure!

Off Topic: lol, sitting back and enjoying.

Based on their posts in another thread, I think they're trying to get banned.

No one here is saying that at all.

It's not your opinion that's bothering people, it's how you're expressing it.

Doesn’t surprise me in the least. Clowns like this appear every once in a while and just as quickly disappear.

Yeah, very VERY happy we got Star Trek back on TV! While not being a big fan of DSC, I'm glad it succeeded and has lots of fans that demand more shows. It works in all our favors.
