I hear Kurtzman is already fired too and Picard is a failure
Pretty sure they will green light season 2 before first season is ever aired. The hype for Picard is much bigger than it ever was for Discovery, and Discovery is doing just fine. And if hype translates into CBSAA viewers, they might as well green light the whole thing now.

Yeah I felt like this event was all about Picard by a mile. Discovery was a warm-up act.

Only few months left until The Expanse season 4 and that hot Martian marine!
I get the impression Picard was supposed to air late this year and lead in to Disco season three early 2020 to keep those CBSAA subscriptions coming in. If Picard has been pushed back to early 2020, presumably that means Disco also gets bumped.

I remember watching the one with data's mother in it that was had his mothers memories and aged. The chip in her head had Dr soong explaining that he will age just like his mother bot.Glad I'm not the only one. I guess the shoe is on the other foot for me now
Except the character isn't supposed to be ageless in their pursuits. He is striving to become more human. Wouldn't an aging program, even in appearance, support that goal?
Of all the things the trailer annoyed me about Data ageing is not one of them.

Olympus Mons is beyond the horizon, far west of both features, so it's not visable.
In fairness, Picard seems to be further along in production than Discovery. There's probably not enough done yet for a trailer.
I see that as being a very natural outgrowth of Data's journey.

Data’s eyes look more consistent with the later films, which were different from the series.
I think the fatter face in the trailer makes his eyes look smaller.
The new actors seem in total awe to be in the presence of Patrick Stewart.
It's great that Jonathan Frakes will be directing some episodes. He's a proven director who knows the Trek universe. He'll do some great episodes, I am sure.
