We'll know they try too hard when they announce Shaquille O'Neal returning as Steel.
No, no and no. Steel was beyond horrible--like Shaq's attempt to act.

She's 92. I don't see it happening.
Pretty great stuff. Beautiful art obviously, some powerful themes, and gotta admit, had me in tears a couple times. You should definitely check it out.Hm, I've never read Kingdom Come.

A little disappointed he's not going to be playing the Superman Returns version (unless it's that movie's Superman aged into the Kingdom Come version, which I suppose is possible).
I have to admit, I'm actually really shocked they do appear to be leaving Black Lightning out of this.
I don't see why they couldn't have Black Lightning appear in the same way that Supergirl appeared in the Invasion! crossover.I have to admit, I'm actually really shocked they do appear to be leaving Black Lightning out of this. I had kind of been assuming this was going to be the point we finally saw it crossover with the other shows.
Brandon turned up at SDCC with a Kingdom Come Superman S on his chest...

Makes a lot of sense to me. Hope the showrunners are thinking along the same lines. Also I suspect Brandon is playing an older version of His character from Superman Returns. There is no way they can tell the whole storyline of Kingdom Come with this. That was always a What if? look at a possible future of Superman. Considering Brandon only has played the part once before why would it not be the same character older? I imagine his role with be a combination of Kingdom Come and Earth 2 Superman’s in the actual Crisis story. Both an older Superman.
If they are really looking to the Crisis comic storyline it would be nice if Audrey Marie Anderson plays Harbinger in full costume. That is were Lyla’s code name comes from.

But as was pointed out by someone above, the producers still aren't ruling it out, just suggesting that Flash et al would have to come to them. As for the Supergirl reference, maybe in the universe containing Black lightning, Supergirl is fictional, but in the universe containing the 1990s Flash so are Superman & Batman.,,and it appears Black Lightning is going the route of being its own universe (not to mention the series referring to DC characters like they were fictional, rather than a real person, then there was an obvious, in-your-face scene of Anissa reading a comic with the ad for the recent Blu Ray of the Slater Supergirl movie on its back cover).
It is a series that is so far removed in structure, tone, ,execution and above all else message, that there is no commonality that would make a crossover anything other than doing it "just because."
She could always be the Lyla Michaels of a different universe.I sort of got the impression from the Arrow finale thatFelicity would take on the Harbinger role. Rickards is done as a regular, but as we've seen with numerous Arrowverse cast members, that doesn't rule out returning for a guest role.
The thing about some of the characters on Arrow is that they were introduced when the universe kept its comics ties to a minimum and so the characters were portrayed so differently from their namesakes that there's no real way to change them into their comics equivalents. Lyla's about as likely to become CoIE's Harbinger as Teryl Rothery's Jean Loring is to marry Ray Palmer.
Burt Ward should play Dick Grayson who became Batman later in his career.
