Yeah, at first I thought it was Vulcan script, but now that I looked it at HD it definitely has that distinctive blocky-with-curves style Romulan text has.
This is wild. I would have told you Brent Spiner and Jeri Ryan's presence in the trailer would have been fanboy stuff, but I'm excited as hell now .
This is a really good theory considering "Michelle Hurd’s character has an unrelated relationship with Picard’s past" https://twitter.com/TrekCore/status/1152663965727481856
I read online that it's aupposed to but... he transferred his consciousness to someone else who happened to look exactly like him and have the same spinal injury?
Yeah, that confused me as well! I'm guessing it means they were both at the same place when something happened but never met.
his contacts were changed for nemesis, this looks closer to that than the ones spiner wore in TNG, but still different. i don’t know why they can’t just have spiner out of make up and say they advanced data/B4 enough to look fully human and save us all the suspension of disbelief. that said, this trailer repeatedly gave me chills and i thought i was too old and jaded for those kinds of feels. but feels. hella feels.
Yeah I think it was clumsily phrased. Certainly seems to imply some sort of relationship between her character and Picard though. EDIT: FWIW: Trekcore's new character breakdown describes the character as "Raffi Musiker, a character who knows Picard from some time in their shared past." http://trekcore.com/blog/2019/07/new-star-trek-picard-photos-and-character-info/
Let's also remember that post-production still has a long way to go. VFX in season 2 DSC trailers, for example, evolved significantly.
That's alot to explain in a two minute trailer. "Who's that guy playing cards with Picard?" When you see Data you understand who that is.

I wonder if the group who made "Star Trek: Renegades" will sue? [To be fair - I actually like what I saw a lot as it shows you can do a piece that has drama and action, and it doesn't look like it'll be Picard pontificating or being as hypocritical as he was during TNG's original run. Hell, I dislike ST: Voyager; but seeing their take with Jerry Ryan as 7 of 9 in that trailer, even I found that intriguing - so I guess yeah, if you have a good writing staff you can take plastic characters and make them into something interesting.]
trailer sure, but i’m speaking about the character in general. that’s what i wish they’d done after first contact (when he briefly had skin) and what i’d like to see if data is a continuing character and not a flashback or fantasy or brief cameo.
Maybe both? The scene at the end could be a Holodeck type thing but they are looking at Data's (or B4's) body earlier in the trailer. Maybe the card game happens when Picard is being a hermit on his vineyard and then when he gets back into the action reactivates Data?
