I could see Deep Space Nine being name-dropped once or twice in passing conversation, but I doubt there will be anything more than that, IMO. Ditto for the Voyager.

Who cares? It's twenty years later, plenty of time for refits. Didn't they replace it with a totally different station in the books?

While I think it's pretty clear that if they decide to bring in any legacy characters, The Next Generation cast is going to get first priority in that capacity. I honestly wouldn't expect to see anyone from Deep Space Nine or Voyager -- at least not right away. Discovery has been pretty good with name-dropping familiar things, so, I have no doubt the latter two shows will get the same treatment. It would be wonderful to see Janeway still an admiral and would LOVE to see the Doctor again. But, as I said in my original post, only if it makes sense for the storyline. The last thing I want this show to be is a "greatest hits."

I would love a visit to DS9, even if no characters appear. There could easily be a conference there or something.

DS9 would have pretty major historical significance at this point.

Post Endgame, Chakotay was promoted, and took Voyager out for a spin. He promptly crashed it into DS9, destroying the station.

Yeah, I imagine most references will be name drops, at least to things outside of TNG directly

I'd love it if they minimized this kind of thing, quite frankly.

The end of DS9 takes place in 2375. Picard takes place in 2402.

2375 should have as much to do with 2402 as 1975 had to do with 2002. So the window to have shown the DS9 Aftermath is gone. Too much time has passed. Martok and Rom should be out of power by now, everyone should be recovered from the Dominion War, except for the Cardassians, and Cardassia should be completely different. The Bajoran Wormhole will probably be outside Picard's neck of the woods. So, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not seeing much of an opening for DS9 stuff in the series. It wouldn't be a natural-looking fit if they had it.

The way that it makes sense to show anything from DS9 is if Picard is docking there. And, if he's on the run and in command of a stolen ship, we probably won't see that.

VOY is a slightly different story. Having Admiral Janeway would make some sense. I don't know how much sense it would make to have anyone else from that series.

Yes, because all of the social, political and cultural issues of 1975 were completely solved and the world was entirely different in 2002.

I kid because I actually agree with a lot of your points. I agree that Rom and Martok wouldn't be in power anymore and I think there'd be very little value in revisiting those characters again. Besides, it's highly unlikely "Picard" is going to be a series where Jean-Luc is smack dab in the middle of galactic politics at the highest levels.

I just meant they could visit DS9 as a place. I think it's extremely unlikely, but it would be feasible without feeling like you're shoehorning it in just for the sake of it.

DS9 would still have major historical and political significance even in the early 25th Century. If they wanted to do a bit of fan service in a way that didn't feel forced, it would be easy to imagine some kind of political conference, gathering of Starfleet brass or some other kind of meeting taking place there.

But, again, I doubt those kinds of stories will be the focus of the show.

I agree with most of this list. Riker absolutely must appear at one point and the show needs to address what, if anything, happened with Picard and Beverly (dear god, please don't have killed her offscreen in the intervening years.)

O'Brien also feels like it'd be an organic fit, as he's living on Earth and teaching at the Academy, so he'd be in close proximity to Jean-Luc, at least at the start of the series.

    Troi - meh.

Kira - unless there was an organic way to visit in DS9, this would feel forced. Besides, the characters have absolutely zero history together. Besides, at this point, I'd like to see Kira having switched jobs at some point in the last twenty years. Maybe she's a Bajoran minister?

Ro Laren, on the other hand, would be cool.

I expect to see ghosts from the past, like the last bridge crew of the Enterprise as she was destroyed.

I want to see Captain Nog. At some point they might need a random starfleet captain. He will do. Jason

The promenade was one of the largest sets in TV history, and undoubtedly very expensive to build. There's absolutely no way they'd rebuild it (or even render it in CGI) for a one-episode cameo.
