I also can't help but wonder where Alec and Crystal were that it took 2 hours to get the dog help. I would think that somewhere in that time they would have been able to just grab it and throw in the car, or at least chase it away from the road.

They apparently rescue dogs on the side so chasing it away temporarily for it to return to the same area isn't particularly consistent with what they hope to do (i.e. actually rescue the animal). As for why it took hours to get help, it's likely that any official body (whether police or local animal control) had more pressing things or simply were in no hurry to respond to a non-emergent situation of a loose stray not actively threatening anyone.in such a remote area. If you follow another youtube channel unrelated to trek (Hope for Paws), some rescues take hours in order to safely (both your's and the animal's) get the animal to trust you or simply catch it.

Oh, I didn't realize they actually rescued dogs, that actually almost makes me not dislike Alec quite as much. Not by a whole lot, but I am a dog person, so it does have a very, very tiny impact.

October is a long way from June.

A lot can happen in that time, and as we've seen, a lot might not happen.

Especially if His Majesty has anything to say about it. :techman:

Are you implying lord biscuit can’t finally get area 3.0 working, raise 200k, recruit cast and crew not just for a film shoot that is shooting at 2 locations simultaneously and recording an audio play, arrange transportation/lodging/food, install a rain shield, install adaquite power between now and October?

I'm not implying anything. I'm just sayin'. :techman:

We all know there is almost no chance he raises the money he wants and somehow coordinates a 3 site recording effort in October. He’d be lucky to do one site but trying to do 3 simultaneous sites is going to be a disaster if he tries.

I wonder how many more disasters will strike and force them to push things back or need more money?
And do they really need to go to people all the way in fucking Italy to get their costumes? I find it very, very hard to believe that there is nobody in the US that can make Starfleet Uniform costumes. I believe both the Kelvinverse movies, and Discovery were able to find American costume designers, weren't they?

The costume thing is idiotic. There are plenty of people in the US who could make it cheaper.
The theater producer in me is tearing my hair out at how idiotic he's being. Be creative, don't just toss money at the fucking problem. It's a FAN FILM.
But, whatevs.

If the Axanar debacle has taught me anything, it's that nothing matters except for the finished product delivered to the backers. Pacific 201 exceeded it's 2015 kickstarter goal of $20k with $26k+, another $5k+ on indigogo so far, and some portion of the current $450+ per month that he has had for several years on patreon for the film (his youtube and patreon previously focused heavily on Pacific 201 but he's pretty much ignored it for a long while now about as long as he has been ignoring inquiries about the status). While it's no where near the duplicity and gall exhibited with the Axanar project, the fact that he's buddying up with the later is concerning to me given the other things going on. If communication and updates (other than a random screenshot of a scene every few months on facebook and zero updates on indigogo in four years) hadn't become so scant along with the years long delays, it'd be another story. If he comes out with it it'll be in 2020 at the earliest according to the video I linked and over 5 years late. That's still better than nothing but not particularly laudible IMO.
I started becoming suspicious of Pacific 201 when it seemed the only updates coming out of the production were exclusively about the CGI ships. Like, okay, that's cool, but at the end of the day, it's just set dressing. If you're gonna take the time to make videos about production design, you damn well can take the time to tell your backers WTF is going on with getting the damn movie itself finished.

But DOES he? Or is it just another way to get $$?

Not only that but for the movies, they used biker pants and boots and then modified them. So it should be simple enough to find something that is close to the final look and then modify it to look good on camera.

But the American's aren't big Axanar supporters like Claude.......only the finest for LFIM!

The using a company of Italy for costumes was always stupid.

Knowing him, it probably is. Anybody know if he actually either runs a rescue or works with one, or do they just do this on their own?
I've seen my mom watching a few videos of people rescuing stray dogs, and usually they seem to be part of bigger organizations.

Never heard him mention an organization he’s working with.

Looks to me like AP stopped to keep a dog from getting hit by a car. Most strays are smart enough to stay off the raod when there's traffic, but some aren't. Same with humans. Just sayin'.

But if His Majesty was on his way to an important meeting, he might have done the responsible thing and kept the appointment, leaving the canine to its own wits. Worse things have happened.

I wasn't there, so I don't know.

But it seems to me that SL is keeping with AP's tradition of stalling and making excuses and, basically, changing the subject.

WHERE'S THE MONEY GOING, SLAP? :techman:
