If Patrick Stewart is super fragile, I wonder if he does super fragile calisthenics? :techman:

I've wondered more than once whether ME and their camp have got the wrong end of the stick vis-a-vis PIC ending up on Amazon Prime. Their narrative is that PIC ended up there as a super-cheap "let's get any money can for it" thing - because Netlfix refused to take it as anything other than a freebie attached to the existing DSC deal - that even one their own (Nerdrotic) indirectly admits makes no sense, but rather Amazon Prime started a bidding war for it because they wanted to poach it, and Netflix let it go because "first airing" rights weren't that important to them. Now I know that this is speculation, but given that their narrative is wholely based on "unnamed sources" that apparently aren't talking to any mainstream sources, I think it's at least more honest speculation.

I think Julie Andrews sang that in a movie.

Netflix never had first option on it in any event, so it's not a matter of them refusing it or letting it go. Netflix only have the rights to Discovery spin-offs, and this is not. CBS made it clear a year ago that they were able to and open to considering other options for Picard.

Given that Netflix also has the international rights to TNG and the rest of historical trek, then it's not difficult to figure that CBS would have sold PIC to Netflix as long as they put in at least a similar bid to anyone else, regardless of whether they legally had "first option" or not. What I'm disputing is the "Minimal deal from Amazon or nothing" narrative.
